Is anyone else concerned that we haven't (seemingly) done anything to inject some creativity or passing vision into our midfield? A midfield selected from Mason, Bentaleb, Dier and Dembele is a beige as it gets and is much more of a concern to me than signing Berahinho.

Overdraft? Signing a player involves getting the registration paperwork to the relevant authorities in time, not completing a PayPal transaction.

I just phoned my bank and asked for a £40m overdraft. They just hung up so not sure if they're getting me the money or not (n)

I imagine the money is just there in case something big pops up. I think Berahino is the best we can hope for today but always hopeful another VDV situation falls in our laps as well.

On the striker front I don't think either Son or N'Jie have really been signed to player there, and N'Jie in particular is likely to take a while before being a regular starter.

As for midfield, Bentaleb isn't a defensive midfielder for me, and Veljkovic and Dier are converted centre backs, neither of which is good enough in that position for us to rely on for the whole season.

And it's not as if it's just us fans being short-sighted on those positions. It's clearly something Poch feels we need as well.

totally agree that the players we sold was the right decision (most of them anyway), but to do so without a replacement (thus far) is very worrying. Anyways, Dier & Bentaleb will have to may do until Jan, just gotta hope they stay fit.

I assume its a little like a mortgage in that you have to be able to prove you can pay

It probably doesn't but it allows us to get confirmation that the funds are immediately available
