I'm a little tipsy and a little tired of the ridiculous meltdown negativity, so apologies for not reading through the evening of what I assume are suicidal, immature posts. But out of interest, has there been any post mortem ITK?

Anyways, COYS- let's get behind the lads!!!

You utter tool. Frankly we could with less fans like you. Unless it's on the fricking official site anything can happen.

If the ITK is a c**t what does that make you then getting all het up?

Takes two to tango. Look at Man U and Madrid.

It was you that posted about the over draft wasn't it? :ROFLMAO:

Looks like the club has fed the media with some information- various newspapers are saying that Tottenham are insistent that we made a £25m offer, West Brom's asking price.

And if that's the case it begs the question why we didn't we offer it weeks ago...and you know get him in for the start of the season lol.

Indeed it's not but surely it can't be coincidence we miraculously break even every window?

We always seem 'willing' to spend beyond but it never materialises... Very convenient.

If money was there to be spent, a back up striker should have been sourced.
I don't disagree, a striker should have been brought in. But if the club are balancing for years because of the stadium thats coming, I'm cool with that. It is one of the biggest things ever to happen to our club.

Long post so apologies in advance:

The state of play:

We have significantly reduced the experience in the squad since Poch took over and we have one recognised striker.

We lucked out with Kane last year, are improvising with Dier this year and we still don't have a recognised captain/leader in the squad.

We have money in the bank from the new tv deal and our net transfer spend is in surplus as well as a healthy wage bill (see below source Topspurs)

20 players sold/released/loaned whilst Poch at Spurs: Chiriches, Capoue, Paulinho, Sigurdsson, Holtby, Soldado, Kaboul, Sandro, Yedlin, Lennon, Stambouli, Friedel, Khumalo, Fryers, Coulibaly, Livermore, Naughton, Gomes, BAE, Dawson. Take 50k as avg. wage = £52m wages saved over 2 years. £83.8m (£5m for Lennon) transfer fees over 2 years.

10 players bought (wages not including Yedlin or Stambouli): Son, Clinton, Trippier, Wimmer, Alli, Fazio, Dier, Davies, Vorm, Alderweireld. Take 50k as avg. wage = £26m wages over 2 years. £78.8m transfer fees over 2 years.

If we had managed to shift Fazio and Adebayor we would have saved an extra £15.6m in wages per year and added £5m for Fazio's transfer.

We must also note that many of the first teamers are now products of the youth team, so our wage bill will be significantly lower than in recent seasons with the likes of VDV, Bale, Modric, Berbs, Keane etc.

Currently:
No width/can't cross
More settled at the back
Struggling to score
Still making stupid mistakes in games
No experienced DM
No captain material
No second striker
Less depth/experience in squad to compete on 4 fronts

After window:
Width
Fazio still here to cover CB's
More goals from wide
Mistakes? Spursy so probably
Dier as makeshift DM. Injured, then what?
Captain? Leader?
Adebayor second striker - unlikely
Youth to compete in EL, not in LC as we have the scum

Conclusion:

In this window we needed a second striker and a DM that could also have been a leader/captain on the pitch.

We have the funds as shown above.

However, we seem to be gravitating towards our youth team for promotion to the 1st team and utilising players to fill multiple positions if injuries/suspensions occur.

Is this because of the new stadium? Probably

Is this becuse ENIC are about profit?
Probably

We don't have the experience to compete on all fronts and injuries to key players will affect us. Hopefully, the new signings will bed in well, otherwise we end up with more Lamela's.

Levy seems to be looking to Poch (and Mitchell) to replicate his workings with youth players. However, Poch seems stubborn and will probaby burn out certain players by not rotating the squad, especially Kane.

I love Spurs and I want us to be successful, not just top 4, but winners! However, all the teams around us have strengthened wisely; Cabaye and Ayew come to mind. I think we will struggle this year, especially if Kane gets injured.

The question is will Levy take the flack or boot Poch before he has a chance to really show his philosophy?

A positive and disappointing window in equal measure.

COYS!

I feel for Poch, I hope he's not used as an escape goat (virgin or no virgin variety) if the team struggles. He needs the tools to do the job and we could be exposed in the next few months to be light up top.

As I said, there were options I would have liked us to pursue, but the fact that they weren't I think is more down to scouts/Mitchell/Pochettino (perhaps) than Levy who is clearly delegating the philosophy and recruitment targeting to others.

And Berahino was a poor fit, especially at the ludicrous price. he's not a great wide player, he created fuck all for anyone the whole of last season. His game is, not entirely limited to, but more effective on the break/counter when he can isolate defenders, about 70% of our games are played against the deep sitting teams. And both N'Jie and Son will bring the pace needed but both create more for others.

This is the bit that worries me far more than not getting a striker or DM - why the fuck were we looking to sign the likes of Berahino and McCarthy in the first place for £40+ million? Bera especially isn't the right fit for us, he won't hold the ball up, his work rate is questionable and a player more unlike Kane you'd struggle to find. We need a link man who'll work hard, hold the ball up, bring others in and hassle the back 4.
As for a DM we need someone better than what we have, a proper screening CM who uses the ball intelligently and quickly, who has some authority, who wants the ball, shows for it and leads by example.

Neither player is easy to find for different reasons but that doesn't mean we should settle at very high prices for a bad fit/mediocrity. We've had that shit already with the likes of Soldado and Paulinho etc. and I thought we were now being smarter? What's happened may turn out to be a blessing but only unless our scouts/management identify the right types of player going forward. Let's hope Berahino makes his peace...

Guess this is as good a time as any to say thanks to @Rob , @Archibald&Crooks and all the mods for the running and upkeep of this great site. What a cracking service.

Although I fucking hate cabbages.

Also a special mention to @Stoof for talking a bit of sense and showing some positivity.

We all love spurs, what happened this window should have no bearing on our passion and support, coys, that's not what it's all about

When we played the MLS side in pre-season and they fielded Villa and Kaka my mouth was watering. These players don't fit our current buying strategy, but they would have been 'sexy' Spurs signings, world stars with experience that we could have utilised on all fronts and most importantly added experience to the squad in a similar fashion to when we signed Davids. We need winners in the team for the young lads to learn from, not just a team full of youngsters; it is naive. When Ferguson had his 'babes' at Man U, he bought Cantona. They needed a father figure on the pitch to take the pressure away from them and steady them when the going got tough. Cantona had just won the title with Leeds and didn't take any crap.

Where is our Cantona? Where is our leader? Who do the younger players look up to?

Delete my account when you see this, I don't care.

All these 'ITK's' are complete and utter c**ts.
The genius Goat who has his own section on this forum has literally never got anything right! "Spurs have £40m overdraft at the ready" good one you clown.

The admins of this site shouldn't sanction such bull shit idiots as they get people's hopes up and then the fans get more annoyed as it becomes an expectation cos some Virgin had nothing else better to do than to make up rumours.
Mate your wish is our desire. Bye.
