When dembele began at Fulham he was a striker and destroyed us with two goal sin a 4-0 fa cup game. He looked good there, and even behind a forward.

AVB ruined him playing him deep

Actually, Jol started playing him as a CM and for the longest Dembele/Sandro pairing was one of the more potent pairings.

Him and dier may be able to replicate that, dembele will be a major asset this season no doubt

:D I saw a striker called Carlos Costly on the list of available strikers. Can you imagine if we signed him...

I see the striker depth chart as:

1. Kane
2. Clinton
3. Son
4. Dembele / Chadli / Lamela
5. Onomah / U21 striker

If we continue to play 1 up front, we should be OK til January.

I bet we see two up top more than we think this season, Kane and a pacey partner could be lethal, barring massive injures I'm not to worried tbh COYS

I do agree with that , but it did suck the attacking life out of him when h e was pinned further back, he used to glide past player's.

Surprised we had only Berahino on our radar just the one option but I guess we all live and learn all our lives.

Dembele can hold up the ball well and started his career as a striker, so we could play him there as long as we had 2 goalscorers playing wide.

I think we definitely should recall Coulthirst as an option.
worth trying him there in Europe - he can hold a ball up better than anyone - he just doesn't have a shot on him though.

Alot of talk about Berbs/Ade or Son/Chadli etc but a question for those of you following the youth (and before you say anything, I know about the thread) do we have any potential stars amongst our ranks that could play as a striker

Edit: not just play as a striker but are a natural striker.

Seriously stuff like that does not bother me.

That's the reason why we have won fuck all. I admire a Chairman who refuses to sell a player just because a better team comes calling. Pearce has taught Levy a good lesson this transfer window.

Mason used to be a striker. And mousa.
Chadli, son and njie could do a job there.

Im guessing we would go 433 if Kane was unavailable.

I would guess that's how all Managers chasing a CL place think. Let's just bung a midfielder up front and see what happens. See it all the time i guess..........if that fails let's think of someone who would "do a job".
