So, now this clusterfuck of a deadline day is over, how do we approach this situation then?

-Do we play Kane in every game?
-Do we use Chadli in less important games?
-Do we use Son?
-Do we use Clinton?
-Do we use a false 9?
-Do we look at our U21 strikers?
-Do we bring back Adebayor?
-Dier anyone?

Would be interested to know people's views on what we should do and how we should approach the season with regards to strikers and team selection.

Chadli can just be converted now to playing in the central role. If its worked on in training and tried from the start in matches (Europa to start with), rather than just sticking him up there out of the blue in games where we are under the cosh and falling apart (see the Stoke game) then I think he can do alright. He's what, 6ft 3, he can head a ball, he can hold it up, shoot, two footed, he can run in behind, and we know he scores goals. Work on the training ground needs to be done.

We have Eriksen, Son, N'Jie, Lamela, Townsend, Dembele, Carroll and Pritchard, plus Alli and Onomah also, who can then compete for the attacking midfielder roles. Son and N'Jie could probably be tried out centrally also, these are what the cup/Europa games should also be used to find out what our options are.

If there's enough room in the squad then I think the bullet has to be bitten and Adebayor is named also, even if its just to fill in for Europa/Cup games until Xmas.

I'm more worried about our failure to sign a central midfielder, and how we seemingly prioritised that less, I think our potential options there are a lot more scarce.

I seriously hope Poch can insist on a free agent CF.. someone with experience and can hold the line yet willing to play when called upon as a back up..

if not I will choose Njie with Son behind..

I said the same thing. I would take him over Adebayor
Som am I, but as long as Ade drawing wages why not use him in cups and Europe, actually make him. If he is not putting an effort fine him and get the wages back

I'd agree with this to be honest.

We need to work on Chadli and basically make him a CF now as he's probably most suited to the lone striker role. We should scrape by with him in the cups providing there are no injuries.

We also need to register Adebayor as a last resort imo.

Extreme pressure now on a young striker who's already short on confidence.

Very stupid management of our top asset.

Adebayor is still under contract and drawing a salary. He's our back-up by default, no? He's maddening but at least he's a striker.

Maybe we see Njie as a striker? Most of us know nothing about him so can't really say either way...
Don't think he has experience of playing there on his own though. It's the fact we play 1 upfront really.

I think Chadli would be the most suited due to his size.
