Hi- if you are on SC, I'd like to say that I really really don't think football is the right sport for you:

I was stood behind that numpty for most of the game. He was more arsed about having a cig than watching the game.

How was Son's confidence even brought into discussion when he has not even been starting matches consecutively and showing he was that bad.. Goodness!

A few poor touches in one 20 minutes as sub of a high tempo and everyone's game to win/lose are being taken too serious IMHO.. Relax!

Problem with Son is that I don't think this is an isolated incident when it comes to being a sub. People will no doubt go 'he scored the winner at Watford!' but that is the anomaly in the evidence so far. I know its early days at the club still but there's been four or five games now where he's come on and just not got close to the rhythm of the game or even got with the work rate. His closing down attempts were pathetic and like he was running with a couple of tonnes being dragged along on his back, and his first touch and close control continues to let him down often. He doesn't seem at ease with the role of substitute and getting up to speed with games quickly.

Great performance in the first half today and even when we faded we created a few chances and kept them largely at bay.

Everton are a very good team. A draw was a good result even if the performance probably merited more.

We looked a bit tired towards the end and Kane and Dier need genuine alternatives. Whilst we keep talking about a replacement for Kane, I think we need a proper defensive alternative in midfield as well.

I think Carroll did well today, but he's no Dembele. His passing is neat and tidy, and I think he's improving a lot which is good, but he can't command a midfield like Dembele and that showed a bit today. Not really a criticism, but more a realisation of how important Dembele has become this season.

Overall can't be too disappointed with today. If someone had said we'd be 6 points off the top come January we'd have been delighted. Bring on Leicester.

Really am loving this mentality that Poch has installed throughout the club
In the past, this would have been "one of those games" where we had ample opportunities to score, but fail and then lose to a sucker punch. This did not happen today and rather than decry the two points lost, this may be looked on a vital point gained. Everton's position belies their quality and we kept Lukaku pretty quiet. It's also evident that Poch knows what he's doing, so the armchair wiseacres can jog on.

Poch said lots of the players are quite dejected after the game today as they didn't win. Good to know but let's hope they get over it soon. To quote Timmy "not by the time they get on the motorway" though.

Sounds like we've a driven group.

Anyone think we should play Son upfront v Leicester in the cup and give Kane a rest? It will settle the argument for Kane's backup and leave Kane fresh for the Wednesday clash. I'd sacrifice the cup for top four This year.
I'd be tempted. Kane has played a lot of football in the last 9 days or so, he was clearly pushing his limits later today. Leicester twice within the space of a few days? Got to think about a change around

Can't remember who it was we played in Europa when we started with Son up front, but he looked great and scored two (?) I believe. People are writing Son off when he makes appearances from the bench. I'd like to see him start up front, he really impressed me in that game. He looked dangerous in the box. If it really looks like it isn't working, we can bring on a fresher Kane (who looked knackered second half today).

With Vardy injured their attacking threat is somewhat nullified anyway (not counting my chickens of course though), so could be a good game to try this again.

It's going to take him time to adapt. Exactly why we need a young hungry backup to Kane who can maybe play lwf too. I also think Eriksen needs some competition.

I base my opinion of Bentaleb on everything he did for us last season, good logic? Yeah, I'd say so. I guess your logic is to cut someone from the team forever because he had a few bad games after returning from injury? Good logic.

My logic is based on Pochetinno seeing him in training everyday and deciding Caroll was a better bet. Not on performances from 8 months ago.

The vardy situation makes an excellent case for this in the FA cup.

Although Carroll did okay i think honestly he is a level below the rest of the players out there today and we really could of used dembele. Thought it was mental we took eriksen off for son when really we should of dropped alli back brought son on for carroll and attacked

Carroll had the highest pass %, highest interceptions, highest number of chances created. How is that a "Level below"?

Carroll is like a fly half in rugby. They are brilliant when they have the ball but can struggle when they don't. He is a very good passer much better than Dembele but everything else isn't as good. I can't see him being here in a years time.

Carroll didn't look a level below the rest at all for me today. Even though he was a bit better today Eriksen has had a string of worse performances than Carroll's today IMO.
