Reading this thread I'm struck by 2 things:

1) Alli is a 19 year old doing great things for our team and is a match winner. People need to get a grip if he is quiet for parts of a game.

2) Moaning about Kane being selfish is ridiculous. All the best strikers are selfish. It's much more of a positive than a negative.

Also Poch's substitutions have been excellent today. He's really grown in this regard. Also his English over the last few weeks seems a lot stronger and I wonder if this is helping.

COYS!

He was joking...

I didn't think he was...because he said when he was playing with other kids he did it but Alli has done it in the Premier League etc.

When he initially said it you could hear Wright laughing beside him lol, but he had a straight face.

He said something about scoring a goal like that when he was younger against players who weren't as good as me, it was ery much tongue in cheek...not that I'm one to defend Sherwood but he was having a bit of bantz

No. He takes it too far and tries ridiculous shots when there are nailed on options for a goal.

It must stop.

His English proficiency has nothing to do with his excellence as a coach or his substitutions.

Didn't read it that way initially, but then again I was too busy laughing!

In fairness and I can't stand the bloke he actually said when I was a kid against people the weren't footballers but he (alli) did it in the premier league.
Was very tounge in cheek.

It was a good three points, any win on the road having trailed is a good result. However, we have played better this season and not won the games. It is though the sign of a good team to win when not fully at its best.

We are in this strange situation where we have a great defencive record and an impressive goal difference, but we have rode our luck in some games at the back and have still to hit our stride in attack. Some of this is down to us being a young team and once we hit our peak we will start to hammer some teams.

We have the potential to be so much better. Had we beaten Leicester at home we would be sitting top of the table tonight. It shows the fine margins this team are dealing with this season.

We did what all good teams are supposed to do, win when the opposition does not take their chances. We now have a run of games where we need to get 10 out of 12 - beat Norwich, Watford and Swansea while drawing at Man City. That will see us solidify our place in the top four if not higher.

We are now at the stage where anything less than the top four will be a disappointment and a major let down. I know Man United or some other team can claw us back, but if we are outside the top four and Leicester remain in it then we should question how they did it and not us.

This team has room for improvement. When Kane pulls the ball back for Dier instead of shooting near post, or plays in Son instead of shooting wildly, we will start to become a better team.

I have been frustrated to see us lose when we should have drawn, or drawn when we should have won. I have been frustrated when we did not advance in a cup or win it when we should have, but this is the first time I am being consistently frustrated by a Spurs team winning games, but not hammering teams. That for me is the sign of the potential we have with this group.

I have suffered relegation as a fan and have seen some false dawns down the years, but something is different with this team.

When analysing Alli's goal he claimed he scored a very similar one back in the day...I shit you not :ROFLMAO:

His whole point was self-mocking and was that he scored it as a a schoolboy against "people who can't play football", therefore Alli's was brilliant and his meant nothing.

You weren't even listening because of your prejudice. You usually talk sense, but this is just silly.

No, the point is that his overall performance doesn't matter, because he scored that goal. Great players can do nothing, but will then produce something extraordinary. The main thing to learn is that Poch knows what he is doing.
You know that if you take away his goal we still would have won, don't you? Fucking good goal but his poor performance does matter contrary to what you say or believe. Chadli on the other hand was the match changer when he came on.

Soooo we are not to say anything even if he (or any other player) is having a stinker? Would you be still up his ass had we lost this game?

That's not quite how football works, if Alli didn't score how do you Chadli would have had the space to score his 3rd?

His goal changed the game.

Perhaps. He certainly gets his ideas across better in the media now though and you see more of his personality. That's could also be true for the players. Not saying it will be the case, but it certainly could be.
