I don't watch enough of other teams but are there not any tripper type signings we we pick up from relegated teams that would fit the poch mould and offer competition for places that Davies and trips has done for rose and walker that has sen their improvement.

All out for a quality striker.
If by the end of the window Poch feels we need cover elsewhere then go for it.
Let the kids have a go at the other positions first. eg Pritch, Ball etc
But get the striker in early!

We should look to Bournemouth for our new striker I reckon...

Why? Wilson will take a good 12 months after his return from injury to see if he hasn't lost a yard of pace/prone to doing his knee again. Afobe? lol

I really like Chadli but appreciate his work rate isn't quite right. In some games though where the high press isn't so vital an extra player with an eye for goal can be more useful than a worker. If we can get Arnautovic I'd possibly look to move Chadli on.
.
You criticise Chadli's workrate but want to sign Arnautovic? from what I understand and what I've seen, he's even lazier.

Other strikers - Gabriel Barbosa, Breel Embolo, Domenico Berardi and Adalberto Peñaranda.

While Clinton is certainly pacey, he is definitely not creative. And the others are all creative but lack the the pace and acceleration of this player type.

I'm liking the suggested players, gonna try and watch a bit more of them and also Pritchard who I havent seen play since Peterborough.

If we can get this creative, rapid midget in the first team and a young hungry backup striker I'd say it'd be a good summer.

I listed all the AM's we have and we have a full house, maybe even one too many already. So if you want one more AM in, we probably need to lose one or more, who is it that you think isn't worth keeping ?

Really like the look of that Embolo kiddie
Not sure if he is what poch wants or a good fit but a real exciting prospect

Not criticising Chadli's work rate but I think it's fair to say he isn't the hardest worker.

I've seen Arnautovic battle back a fair few times this season. If that isn't part of his regular game then fair enough, I don't watch enough of Stoke to have formed much of an opinion.

I don't think we'll do much business at all in the summer. This squad has all the quality it needs - it just needs time.

Appointing McDermott as our new DoF says very much that the focus will be on the production line, and not signings for the first team.

Dembele in + Fazio and Yedlin out will be the perfect summer.

We have too many AMs. We have 8 and we really only need 6 for Poch's preferred 22 man squad. All 8 are very good players too. We certainly don't need more.

Njie, Pritchard and Onomah we've not seen enough of yet. Of the 5 established ones, Eriksen's probably the first one I'd look to upgrade/move on at the right time

I agree with this although surely if we make CL then rather than looking at Dembele surely that means we can aim for Embolo, Batshuayi or Lacazette?

We're not gonna spend £30m+ for a player who will spend alot of time on the bench though. Kane is obviously the number one striker any player we bring in has to be happy to be backup or be versatile enough to operate in the other positions effectively. I just don't see us splashing £30m on that player.

I reckon we'll bring in Dembele and then look to keep developing within.

I doubt it. Kane's such an established first choice, you don't want a £30m benchwarmer.

Why not Afobe? Young, hungry, no great price or expectations, but a proven goal scoring record. Sounds like someone who'd park their arse on our bench and bide their time, hoping to get their one shot at the big time.

He'd park his arse on the pitch as well. The guy's a jogger.

You think bringing in an untested 19 year old striker from the championship would be the perfect summer? I'd expect us to do a lot better than Dembele if we're in the CL next year.

Do we want a player who can come in and challenge Kane for the no1 position or do we want a player who we are happy to develop, I mean I think the question needs to be asked if those players became available then would we turn them down, knowing that we have the money to spend on them?

Also we were after Werner, Berahino and Martial in the summer, do you think these players would have been bought in as bench warmers, I think that shows we are looking for a forward to come in to play more than a bit part role at the club and maybe play alongside Kane on occasions too.

You need to lower your expectations then your you'll be disappointed, we will be promoting from within and I expect no more than 3 in at very most and I doubt we'll do that.

Just like bringing in an untested 19 year old midfielder from League 1 didn't improve us last summer? Or bringing in a young CB back who'd hardly played in Portugal etc etc.

Our skill is finding value in young talent and moulding it, why would we change that blueprint if it's bringing success?

Dembele is settled in London, speaks the language, we'll have done a lot of research into him off the pitch and how he'd fit in to the squad. There are a lot less variables than bringing in a young striker from abroad.

I'm perfectly happen to promote from within, but we don't have any strikers ready to make the step up.

I'm not expecting us to go out and buy loads of players as we dont need to. In fact i'd be pretty happy with just bringing in a striker, but that striker needs to be someone who can challenge Kane and step up and play in the CL. Not a 19 year old kid from the championship with mixed reviews.
