Another good thing is that Leicester still have to play West Ham and West Ham must be thinking about their chances of a Champion's League place. How ironic would it be if they do us a favour by beating Leicester after f**king us over tonight.

So you think the fans didn't spur them on to that result tonight??? You're delusional, son.
No, I think Bilic spurred them on by getting to Champions League championship contention.

Fact. Not delusion.

Wow. That's two of their key players out now. Considering the result tonight, somehow this hasn't actually been too bad an evening.
It's a messy fixture out the way. Spam won't play any other team with that intensity for the rest of the season, I can guarantee that.

We'll know exactly what to expect on Saturday (for some reason we didn't tonight) and hopefully put things right and move forward to consolidate CL.

It was one of those nights. But lets not undermine the opposition. In my opinion the match was turned by the skill and vision of Payet. Never really watched him before but I thought he was very influential I think WHam would have crumbled without him.
On another point, I wonder at what point in the season we relieve Eriksen of corner taking? Why he takes corners when Tom Carroll is on the pitch is beyond me.

We all knew a game like this had to come soon. Its done now, and with the other results no real damage has been done. Saturday, however is a different matter.

Of course never happy to lose but tbh I'm quite content. I always had this down as one of our 2-3 write-offs among the fixtures ahead. Was hoping for a draw and a win would have been a massive bonus but despite losing we remain on course. That feeling is amplified by Arsenal and City losing and Leicester dropping points. Would have been far more gutted had we lost to Swansea the other day.

As to the performance, it was bad. First league game this season that I can say we genuinely deserved to lose. However, I honestly believe there were mitigating circumstances. That pitch was an absolute bloody disgrace and the problems it presented were exaggerated further by the garden shed-like size of it. It was clear to see that the passing technique and first touch of our players suffered incredibly. We couldn't string anything together. Another disadvantage rarely highlighted is that Ham had an extra day's rest and preparation on us. I think many underestimate just how significant an edge that was for them. Granted I'm making excuses for us but I do feel they are valid. Either way West Ham deserved to win.

You can rightly say that if we wish to be champions we should have found some way to eek out a result regardless of circumstance, however all in all we remain in good stead. The only worry is with regards to maintaining confidence and momentum but given the unique conditions on the night I think the players should be easily enough able to write this one off as a blip.

We could still be playing tomorrow and not score. Fuck that game, let's home it's just a one off. No idea why I was looking forward to that so much.
You get slagged off on here for saying we struggle to break down teams well enough to score....

Poch blaming the pitch. That is a very poor excuse because it's the same for both teams. If we lose to Ars I'm afraid it will be the start of a poor run.

What we learnt today...........

Rose and Walker are the number one fullbacks really missed their energy and pysicality today..
Chadli is not a starter
Lamela is not a starter against aggressive teams like West Ham
Kane looks knackered need Njie back asap to offer some pace up front off the bench
Dembele needs to come back asap

As long as their reserve keeper doesn't have rhe game of his life, remember, he will be playing against us and you know what usually happens!!
They don't scare me. We play our game and prepare ourselves properly, mentally, and we'll get a result. Every point is a point towards CL.

Tonights game is a wake-up call for us to have an extra edge in the locker to bring out and add to our game when the going gets tasty.
