Let the dust settle... We need time to get over this humiliation.

But the team deserves a lot of credit for the work put in this season.

Yes after Chelsea, our heads dropped. Frankly I blame the media for hyping the title challenge. But that's football, the coaching team still has to motivate the players for every match, even thou it doesn't mean as much anymore.

I can't stress this enough. WE FINISH 3RD! Take a deep breath... Newcastle can celebrate the victory. But when the dust settles... They are in the championship, we are in the champions league.

That moment you realise that the Euros are coming back so you can forget about Spurs.

And then remember that England are basically Spurs.

Mason, Carrol and Chadli need to be sold. Onomah needs a loan in the championship. We then need to sign 3-4 players to compete next year. Two strikers and a CM for sure. The squad is too thin and we overachieved with the players we have this year. The lack of professionalism from the team in the last two matches has been shockingly poor, not sure how we change it....as I said earlier, I fear for us next year and worry this season was a fluke. Top teams just do not capitulate like that,

Your completely right it's has been a great season and I think we all would have taken it at the start of the season. But the players can't understand the fans and how much it would have meant for us to finally finish above Arsenal.
I thought this side was different and had a stronger mentality, desire and toughness

Having such a young squad we lack the experience when it mattered but I am sure they will learn from it. Like Poch said it's not a tactical problem but mentality.

I still see us as work in progess and with Champions League football I am sure we can attact new players which will improve us further.

The worst thing is there's no game next week to make ourselves feel better with a win

Been a great season and it's weird to feel down about third place but really 2nd should be sewn up and that curse put to bed so we could enjoy a lovely summer,,,,that's what's pissing most off on here

I've read 2 pages of this thread and frankly I can't bare to read anymore.

It's not the team that are pathetic. It's not even the performance that was pathetic (disappointing, yes). Nor is finishing below the goons pathetic.

It's half of the whiney, entitled, small minded posters on here that are pathetic.

Man the fuck up and stop embarrassing yourselves and the rest of all Spurs fans.

Point 1 - Finishing below the Goons is pathetic when just 3 weeks ago we were chasing the title.

We're entitled to be entirely fucked off with what has happened since the Man Utd & Stoke games. Gone from a team who looked like they deserved the title, to a side that looked like they deserved relegation.
There are absolutely no excuses for the complete capitulation.

Yes, 3rd place, and the CL group status that goes with it is great, but we've gone out with a whimper instead of a bang.

I at least applaud Poch in his interview. His apologies is accepted, and basically said this has made his decision in the summer for in my my opinion 'outs and ins' firmed up.

This is so brutal. In laws are all massive gooners, and was hoping to finally get one over them. All we needed was finding 1 point against Saints or a relegated side, but we fucked it up. Never gonna hear the end of this, so pissed :/

But surely we saw this coming last week the old spurs have rocked up for the last few games, real shame as i thought they were long gone still never mind third is good yes.
My phone is going crazy from gooner mates now so will have to do the annual style it out from losing from a winning position.

It does make you smile, only Spurs could make our best ever Prem finish feel like an abject failure. Just think how well it prepares you for life's other great disappointments.

I'm sure we'll learn from this, learn from our mistakes, good character building and all the other cliches.

Our recruitment will be very interesting. I feel a few players might have played their way out of the club in the run-in.

Over reactions? Please

Dont get me wrong I am well pissed off and the team have let us down today but we have had a bloody great season with the youngest team in the league. I am certain this will be a big learning curve and will make them stronger.

I am sure they will be beating themselves up as well. Pretty sure they would have wanted to finish above Arsenal and not let the fans down. I will avoid the usual faces for a while.

So as i said im pretty pissed off and feel a bit let down but they have given us a lot to be proud of this year. Just lost it at the end.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino: "First of all I would like to apologise to our fans, I think they don’t deserve all that happened today on the pitch and I apologise. It was a shame and diffcult to understand

"In the last couple of weeks when you do not play with 100 per cent it is impossible to win games and after Chelsea something happened. We cannot manage games in the right way.

"I am very disappointed because our fans don’t deserve it, it is difficult to go tonight and see my boys and my wife. I think it is unbelievable and we are very disappointed.

"We had the possibility to stay second and how we lost and how we gave to the opponent that is relegated, in the first and second half, they score three goals with 10 players it is the worst day as a manager and I feel very disappointed. We need to be sure that never happens again and need to improve our mentality. We were on holiday and that is the reality."

Only positive if there is any is that Poch can see the mental weaknesses of the squad. Mason and Carroll are no where good enough and the likes of Verts and Eriksen dropping tools after the Chelsea game is a disgrace.

People keep saying back up, we don't want back up, we need competition. Eriksen need to know if he doesn't turn up he will not play the next 3-4 games. Dembele needs to know if he's not there we have cover.

Even Lloris our captain has not looked right the past few weeks. Sell the deadwood and bring in some top quality to push us on.

I booked next week of work about a month ago in hopes I'd be on an all-week bender.

I will, just for reasons slightly different to what I had intended...
