Pretty sure we won there last year and the year before...so saying we haven't won there since Atouba's goal is just wrong...
I didn't say we hadn't won since Atouba's goal did I?

You are right, we did win the last two years but look at our record generally, 3 wins in the last 11 years against what has been a crap Newcastle side throughout that period.

We really should pin this in every match day thread.

And every ITK transfer thread.

Is there any other team in world football that makes their fans go through as much shit as Spurs?

Every fan moans about their team and thinks that they are hard done by, but over the past decade, from lasagne gate to this, we have really been through some shit.

I love our players still, but I think every Spurs fan wants to give them a slap for that pathetic end to the season.

It slightly concerns me when I see people talk about how young this squad is and how this collapse will be a great lesson for them. The fundamental reason for this collapse wasn't because this squad is young. It was because this squad is thread bare after our first XI. If the thought is that we can bring back the exact same team, minus a few moneyball type signings, then we will be in for a rude shock when we face a much stronger league next season.

Remember, Chelsea, City, and United now have the revenue to spend 200 million pounds NET, each. Arsenal have 150+ million pounds in cash reserves and undoubtedly will spend given fan pressure. Liverpool may win Europa and earn CL football, and Klopp can attract some top players there. There is no concern with FFP, either, with any of these teams. That's not to mention the likes of Leicester, West Ham, and Southampton. All three of them can easily spend 70 million pounds net this summer bolstering already strong squads.

We need to spend the television and CL money money to find 3-4 quality signings. They need to have established reputations in a European top 5 league and have broken through to their national teams at some point. CL or EL experience too is a plus. No more bargain basement diving for back-ups.

Pochettino should've been ruthless with Levy in negotiations and demanded massive summer financing in exchange for a new contract. It's in his best interest as a manager. Brendan Rodgers had a better season than this at Liverpool, but due to an injury ravaged squad, poor transfer strategy, and other teams improving, he was booted early this season. Poch is a great manager, but he needs support in a major way with a stronger squad.

I would like signings with the right mentality and preferably PL experience. Don't care about big names. Skill and work rate for me.

Even more reason then for Levy to not fuck around waiting until deadline day.

Given we've secured automatic CL qualification without the uncertainty of the playoff round, I will be hugely hacked off if we fumble around until deadline day. No excuses this summer. Get the majority of our signings in BEFORE the season starts.

"Lessons have been learned", "Poch and Levy have been lining up targets since January", "We couldn't get the right players in", "The deal was in place but we just ran out of time" #warchest

And which club has ever done that? The market simply does not operate that way, the vast majority of business is concluded in the final weeks of August and the Euro's means that even more deals will be concluded later than normal. There is little point in expecting or wanting something that simply is not going to happen, the club would have to pay a massive premium to do that and most players won't even entertain a move prior to a major sporting event.

Simply disgusting today

We needed one point against a team that was relegated and drew with Villa last week and everyone would be happy. Jokers everyone one of them top to bottom

You are right and the Euro's certainly make it more difficult as selling clubs will be hoping their players put in good showings and drive the price up. However, it would be good to get one of our main targets in early, preferably a striker or the CM option like we did when we wrapped up and announced the Modric deal early.

Who do you think Poch was inferring of when he talked of summer decisions?

Obviously Mason has been poor in the two games, he may have been equally unimpressive in training. Son? Would he move on a player he seems to genuinely like, and who has only had one season?

I'd love to see Andre Ayew in our colours next season. Although I definitely haven't written off Son. A. Ayew is probably everything Son should be in our side. Has predictably looked excellent, even in a dire Swansea side. Has the required work rate, pace, strength, skills, GOALS, left footed and play on either wing or in the centre if needs be. Really stood out in the World Cup too...can't beliebe Swansea got him. Think he's be a quality signing.

Rotate him with Eriksen. As soon as Eriksen has a stinker ala today, play Ayew. Then as soon as Ayew has a shit game....Christian gets the nod. We need these players on their toes.

With the striker position we are about 3 or 4 windows overdue, so no, I will not accept going into the new season without cover/competition for Kane.
