Can't wait for the obligatory
I see why Poch said to Levy that we need to buy as we've seen that the likes of Mason, Son and Carroll are simply not good enough

Too early to say with Son. But Mason, Carroll and Chadli have had ample time to shine and IMO, ultimately they have fallen short.

Ridiculous from Bobbins. Highest finish in Premier League history and he's writing it off because of four bad games. The sort of pathetic, reactionary rubbish that is hopefully being picked up and disseminated in "Let's all laugh at Tottenham" threads on various club forums up and down the country.

Trying to find some post match comments from poch, anyone seen anything yet? Wonder what he can possibly say about our recent free fall and the frankly shambolic performance today. No doubt we'll hear about how we need to stay together and what a young squad we have but if I were him I'd be straight to levy's office asking for a blank cheque and to offload mason / Carroll / chadli and the other dross polluting our club. We need depth and if we fail to sign a back up striker again this summer I will genuinely give up. Gutted today, totally gutted but actually not surprised.

Apologizes to supporters, says it will make some summer decisions easier

Its very clear that the problem has been trying to motivate and lift the players after the Chelsea result. They've been on the beach since then, or too many of them have, and they shouldn't of been.

Been on holiday since then. Goes to show how much the chance of a league title drove us. Also not sure we'd be where we are now if our strength in depth was tested more throughout the season...

Son is lightweight and generally ineffective IMO.. £20m badly spent

If the Chelsea result is what broke them then why were they crap against West Brom the match before?

hopefully we can learn from this season - we fucked up the first 4 games of season with 3 points from possible 12 and threw away the last 4, 2 points from 12. The other item to be addressed is the lack of creativity from the bench.

Well, at least we won't have to play Newcastle next season! Can't believe that shower took 6 points off us at an aggregate of 7-2. Only shame is that Middlesborough are coming up because for some reason I've got it in my head that our record in the North East is very poor, certainly is at Newcastle given how crap they have been over the years. I can't remember our last win there, was it Atouba's wonder goal?

I'm pleased by Poch's comments that "it will make decisions for the summer easier", it implies he isn't afraid to bruise egos and move players on that don't have the right mentality and some of them need to toughen up.

In the summer we need:

Another CF
Another creative player, either tricky CE understudy / playmaker or someone with pace and goals who can play as a WF / CF if needs be (Lacazette)
Another CMF to cover for Dembele / Dier
Upgrade on Walker who has a good engine but is simply not switched on.

I also think it would be good to bring in an older head, a proven winner with the right mentality who has experience and who isn't going to play every game but can bring players on and have a positive impact on them from a development perspective. A signing much like Davids or Parker were. Not saying this could happen but someone like Xabi Alonso.

Might have done but generally we have a pretty poor record there given how bad they are and they have handed us some pretty heavy defeats over the years.

The team should be ashamed of themselves for today's "effort" but I on the whole its been a good season and we will improve, I just home we improve enough not only to stand still but move forward next year.

Worst thing is my boss is Gooner; thinking of pulling a sicky tomorrow.

@SpursDave88 - what is there to disagree with there - you saying we've done well at Newcastle over the years?

I'm not sure why people are having a go at Walker, he's done nothing wrong and been one of our better players throughout the season. He has heart and guts and you can see that it hurts him when we lose.

As many have said the weaknesses today are obvious.

Mason, Carroll and Chadli. Also Poch's tactical switch really killed us.

Normally none of those three would play, but what we see now as we have known all season is that we have a lack of depth which eventually hurts you when those players are called on.

We need another CM and another Striker.

Think we won there last season too, anyhow you're right we should be beating them.
