We need to get out of the mentality of wanting to replace important players who aren't the finished article yet, thinking their replacements are going to be instantly better.

What we need is competition everywhere, not like for like "replacements" all the time. This raises the standard of the whole squad, including the established top players.
I am not a big Eriksen fan but I agree with you, we need to keep him. Get someone in to directly challenge him for his position.

I highly doubt we'll sell Eriksen. Next to no chance of that one. The Italian clubs will likely have to pay north of £40m and I think Poch would still have a hard time giving Daniel the go ahead on that one even if Daniel puts all those funds towards a transfer. IF, on the off chance we do sell him, it'll be extremely tough to get a good replacement in unless CL play convinces Gotze to come.

As for someone to push compete with Eriksen, I still say hold off on that until we're into a pre season. Let Pritchard get a chance to prove that he's good enough if he is fit again.

Not sure its next week but both imminent ;)
Not sure on when the first signings wll be announced though i suspect it will be after we have completed them!!

Cheers JJ (y). Oh & I love the way you back up what I say, then get a gazillion positive reps, while I just get a few shitty reps and a dodgy email from A&C saying something about being broken on slowly :cautious:

One of the clubs after Eriksen in Italy is definitely Juve. Media in Italy have been talking about him being a Juve target for a while now. No idea who the other club would be.

I doubt it'd happen. Would like him at Juve but he fits Spurs better. Spurs need him more and I can't see us selling him unless we get a ridiculous offer*.

Latest ITK from the fox seems confusing, or is it just me?
Players holding out until after Euro's to see if they can get better deals, Eriksen situation, etc.

PLEASE LEVY NOT THE SAME BULLSHIT AGAIN

What bullshit again? I sit with great anticipation, to see the list you draw up which states the 'star players' Levy has sold, that didn't make it clear they wanted a move, leaving Levy with nothing to do, other than demand the biggest possible figure for the player.

Whilst I generally agree with this, with the new TV deal and the position we are in, now is the time to refuse. Even if they express a wish to leave.

Everton proved with Stones it can be done.

Not sure what to make of the Eriksen situation. By no means to I want us to sell him as I believe he is a vital part of our team.

On the flip side, I don't think he is irreplaceable. Finding a top class striker such as Kane would be a much harder task. If you look and see players like Gotze, Isco, Calhanoglu, Mhkitaryian, Mahrez etc...could all do the role Eriksen does.

Once again, don't think we should sell him, but if we ever did, think there is a chance it wouldn't be the the end of the world...

I'm lovin' you Coopsie - will keep on piling on the winner ratings - even if you're talking bollocks! (I don't mean the above by the way which I agree with). You need a bit of zennor love.

And I bet after the season he had, they wish they hadn't!

Maybe an Everton fan would tell me different, but I don't think there was much difference. He was, and still is, a very talented ball playing CB with a hell of a lot to learn.

Didn't help he was playing for a manager with no idea how to set up a team to defend.

Anyway, this is getting way off topic, so I'll stop there before A & C has a crisis.

I think Eriksen may jump at the chance to play in Italy, personally. Perfect pace for him.

I still have reservations about him as well tbh.

I think Pritchard would surprise people.

We'd still buy for like if Eriksen did go, but Pritchard needs to be brought properly into the fold.

If he'd have been used last season instead of sending him off on a batshit loan, he'd have properly competed with Christian imo.

You know I am very much a fan of Pritchard, and I am also a staunch believer that we need to be looking inwards for solutions more than we are, but I really don't think he'd be able to replicate what Eriksen brought last season. I'm not even sure we could easily go out and buy what Eriksen brought last season.

If we lose Eriksen I would go for Barkley. I prefer to keep Eriksen though

Of all those players only Mhkitaryan is really able to offer the all round package of creativity, work off the ball and amount of ball he sees, and it would be almost impossible to sign any of those players. Mahrez is nothing like Eriksen.

Not even close for me. If we lost Eriksen we'd be losing about 50% of the entire teams IQ. We'd have to replace him with someone with a brain, not all his ability in his boots like Berkley. I'd go for Fekir personally.
