If my memory serves me wasn't his last major injury due to a tackle that deserved a straight red when he scored?

Not quite

Wiltshire did the damage to the ankle putting in a (deliberately) very nasty tackle during England training in June. The knee thing from the Sunderland match (September) was separate and minor. In the Chelsea match (November) he re-aggravated the ankle fracture Wiltshire had originally done, which is what he's now having operated on.

I wouldn't be that upset with Eriksen leaving as long as we replaced with someone like David Suarez. Think Eriksen flatters to deceive on many occasions. Technically good player, but rarely imposes himself on a game

David suarez is a 36 year old who plays in French amateur league o_O

We need to get out of the mentality of wanting to replace important players who aren't the finished article yet, thinking their replacements are going to be instantly better.

What we need is competition everywhere, not like for like "replacements" all the time. This raises the standard of the whole squad, including the established top players.

Madness to sell Eriksen. There was a discussion over on that american Spurs site cartilage free captain and the consensus was that he was player of the year, over nearest contenders dembele, toby and dier.

I don't see Eriksen leaving - he's in the most competitive league in the world, we're about to play Champions League football and could conceivably challenge for the title next year. It's not happening.

Yep, he's not going anywhere. His agent is negotiating a new deal and with the new to money contract he'd be mad not to be asking the club to pay him mega money.

You'd have to think we'll ask for £35m at the minimum for Eriksen. Somehow I don't think he goes.

It's a number that is depressing. We are in CL, they aren't. We have an awesome new stadium coming, theirs will take years. We have a far bigger fan base than them. We have the best young team in the country, their squad requires total overhaul. Yet still they can get £60M a season just for their kit. Incredibly depressing to think the objective perception is that Chelsea is that much of a bigger club than Tottenham.
Sponsors back winners, not size reputation and tradition. Despite your feelings for Chelsea they are winners having been much more successful than us recently in the trophy haul.

Question from sponsor is - who buys these kit ? Fans , ofcourse.

I would dispute "we have a bigger fan base than them". In a traditional sense we may have that. But reality is they have a massive fan base than us. Go to India or China or African countries, unfortunately they have a bigger fan base than us. Bigger fan base means more shirts sold.

We have not won a trophy for 7 years. They have won probably more than 7 trophies in that 7 years.

Depressing as it may sound for a Spurs fan, this is the reality. We can't be in denial of this.

I think you meant to say bought 7 trophies. (y).
