Does anyone know if he's any good at set pieces, ie. corners, indirect and direct free kicks?

What I like about Gotze is he covers eriksens weakness of not being good on the half turn in #10 and is able to control a game better than Alli whilst having a similar goal return to both.

Would give us so many options but everything spurs in me says it's too much of a deal for us to get over the line before someone like Chelsea or Juve decide he's worth a punt.

Not really surprising if this is true.

The only hope was he was keen to have a fresh start away from the Bundesliga but German players seem quite happy to stay in the Bundesliga even if it means moving between big clubs. Like in England the big clubs can provide everything they need.

What I don't get is that Mirror Sport saying that but Darren Lewis, who works for the Mirror, is saying he wants to come but we're undecided? Sounds like they don't really know

If a player of his quality genuinely is showing a desire to join us we'd be foolish not to pursue it.

For the record, I know it has been said that Liverpool are not interested now they have Mane, but it still wouldn't surprise me at all if they were still interested and could afford this deal, especially if the offload Benteke for 30m and/or Ibe and maybe A N Other.

In Klopp's first 12-24 months at Dortmund I think there were a lot of in's and outs.

Looking at some of the media sources, they are only not interested because he knocked them back.

However apparently Darren Lewis said on talksport he wants us, we don't want him
That makes very little sense. Why would we pursue him, hold multiple meetings with his father, and then decide we didn't want him? If we weren't serious about bringing him in I can't see why we would have sounded out his interest in the first place.

Exactly, sounds like to me no one really knows what's happening so will just have to wait and see

Unless the reason we are unsure is his wage demands...

Many things we will never understand. What I believe without any knowledge is these things are common. Only a few actually go through. Remember William, Petit as two examples? Remember Carlton Cole in his prime? Yes I know! I know! He had photos taken with our shirt but transfer never went through. There is also Cahill who even visited our Chigwell complex and deal never went through.

Many crazier things happen all over but we never hear.

I suppose that's possible (we did have ITK recently that Poch turned down Sanabria after meeting with him), but Götze is hardly an unknown quantity. Surely his reputation precedes him and he either would have been on Poch's list of players to target or not before we ever got involved.
