Is it bad that as soon as he did that I started to wonder what drugs he was on?

Performances like that don't generally come out of nowhere, and you don't usually see world records which have stood for so long smashed like that...
Not at all, I'm exactly the same, which is a massive problem that needs addressing, anytime a Russian wins anything I can't help but think they're buzzing off their tits.
Cycling seems to be addressing it's problems, Athletics needs to do the same.
They need to implement lifetime bans, no ifs ands or buts, and it makes Usain Bolt's achievements even more important, that he's single handedly stopped that fucking cheat Gatlin from winning an Olympic gold.

No... Keirin is where the moped leads them round, steadily accelerating to 45km/h
Then with 2 1/2 laps left he peels off and they go hell for leather to the finish.
No-one is eliminated from it.

Yes of course - it's the Omnium elimination race, not the Keirin.

I reckon we could overhaul the yanks. 60% of their golds are from swimming, which is finished now. And we've got a lot of good gold prospects left.

Fantastic Athletics last night. As they were going around the bend on the 400m I said to myself the record could go here, but I was still gobsmacked when he did it.

I'm still catching up with last night's action...what a day's sport it was, especially for Britain.

I just wanted to mention someone I haven't seen talked about- Josh Buatsi, our light-heavyweight boxer. He's been superb so far, and reached the semis yesterday to guarantee at least a bronze.

If you want to watch his semi-final bout (against Niyazymbetov of Kazakhstan, who took silver in London) it's at 10:30 tomorrow night.

Wayde van Niekerk was extraordinary, I think he could run under 43 seconds, some talk of him racing Bolt at 300 which would be interesting.

The crowd boo Gatlin but cheer Blake. Don't get that.

Gaitlin's had a two year ban and a four year ban. Looking on wikipedia (because I didn't know anything about it) Blake had a three month ban for something that wasn't on the anti-doping ban list but was similar to something that was on the list.

Gold in the horse dancing! It's a great sport that must remain in the Olympics*

* as long as GB keep winning medals in it

I literally have no idea how horse dancing works. Well done for winning gold but seriously I have no clue on the sport.

Id love to race Bolt, see how far behind id be. He would easily cross the finishing line before i even get off the blocks. Fuck he would cross the finishing line before i leave the changing rooms.

As for the south African 400m dude, he would cross the finishing line and wake up the following morning and id be just passing 300m

But i love a challenge and wanna race both.

Nailed on gold he is, he's managed a few brutal knockdowns. Possible future world champ.

I'm gonna tip Rajiv Ouseph to pick up a gold in the Badminton - silky smooth player, plays in the round of 16 later today.
