A 4 year old tweet, posted when he was a non-league player, and was also involved heavily in gang culture.
But of course, people and their opinions can't change can they...
The fact the Sun pays someone to trawl through 7000 tweets to find something offensive says it all.
I doubt it works like that. Somewhere someone has remembered it and as soon as he hit the big time it gets dragged up, retweeted to death and ends up in front of the right person. You have to remember, journalists are extremely lazy. And now social media is making it even easier for them.A 4 year old tweet, posted when he was a non-league player, and was also involved heavily in gang culture.

From a programming point of view it's a piece of piss to create a script/bot to do this for u...highly unlikely that a human had to do it.I doubt it works like that. So the FA have taken it upon themselves to now charge Gray with misconduct for this tweet - 4 years after it was posted.
Do they have nothing better to do??
Charging him and punishing him are quite different things here.So the FA have taken it upon themselves to now charge Gray with misconduct for this tweet - 4 years after it was posted.

They have to be seen to be taking action, hence they've charged him...I would very much expect him to be given a slap on the wrists and a 'don't do it again' as he has already come out and explained that it was a long time ago, and he's now a completely different person now compared to 2012.
It's a pretty serious offence after all, they can't just ignore it, it would send out the wrong message if they did.
You're right but I think they can suspend the punishment.Problem is, it's now classed as a 5 match ban - minimum. York 'keeper has just been handed that ban for an incident last season.
Surely they can't apply the same to Gray now?! If so, surely they have to give John Terry a season long ban!

So Gray is either a homophobe or a gay acting like a homophobeNot true. A very good friend of mine was quite anti-gay growing up, then one sunday morning, house full of hungover mates all waking up and sinking coffee, talking about some lass he was chatting to the previous evening and, almost word for word, he just said, "No, she's not my type. Actually, guys, i think i prefer cock. I mean, i really love the cock. And coffee, i love coffee and cock."
Couldn't argue with that, nothing changed at all. Except he spent the next couple of years at spangly night clubs really loving the cock, and more power to him

Not sure, his tweet was saying there was gays all around him, I think he may have been in a gay bar.Not sure. Its possible he was just trying to impress his mates or fit in of something. Not saying it's right but it's not necessarily his belief.

There's a statute of limitations with this sort of thing, surely? The views I held four years ago would have probably got me banned from football for life if they stacked charges together. Gray most likely isn't that person anymore and hasn't been for a long time.
