I think it'll be the 1st time I can remember not wanting us to buy a big name player... I really don't want Sissoko. Not for 30M. I would rather promote from Academy than buy him tbh. I'll be a little bit gutted if it happens. But at the same time gutted if we don't get anyone else in other than the 2 deals tonight.

In fact, I'm very underwhelmed by Mitchell's supposed input to our dealings in this TW, and it makes me really wonder if we're doing it just cos its Everton and where Mitchell is supposedly leaving to go to.
Very disappointed with the outcome of the window and would much rather we'd gone all out for Yarmolenko than Sissoko. In fact any half decent player for less than 20M would be ideal than Sissoko at 30M.

Quite shocked at our approach that smacks of desperation than any sensible well thought out planning.

No way would Levy spend 30 million to get some sort of revenge. It would offend his business sensibilities.

Niall Quinn thinks that we held back in order to let Everton establish the asking price rather than get involved in a bidding war.

Then I cant understand why the fuck else he'd be willing to buy an overrated 27yr old who plays for a championship side for 30M!

Sorry, but I'm really shaking my head at this supposed deal.....
And I must ask who is being backed by who?? Is Levy really backing Poch here? Or is Poch backing Mitchell here?
I'm really really confused about this one. I cant make any sense of it.

How much have you really seen him play? He tore us apart at WHL, he was one of Newcastle best players year after year and he was one of France's best players at the euros and helped them get to the final.

Ok he's 27 and i think we should've gone for Winyaldum instead as he's slightly better and 2yrs younger but sissoko is a powerhouse, he can play CM or RW and is exactly the kind of player we were missing vs Liverpool and that we miss when Dembele is out. If we're serious about the CL and all competitions this year we needed this signing.

We now need N'Kodu and Janssen to come good and we could have a storming season.

Yes yes yes.... Everyone keeps saying, he tore us apart at WHL... Was that the ONLY great game he had then? the only one of note whilst playing for a team that got relegated? I mean, if he only had 1 killer game and that was coincidentally against us then we aren't banking on much of a reputation are we?

They are taking the piss.

Sissokho, Another huffer and puffer. Will tear his way up the wing, skip 3 tackles and cross it into the 8th row, all day long. If that is our statement signing after getting into the CL groups then my ticket will be up for grabs.

Its all about the statement of intent.

If net spend was zero every year, and there were 10 clubs that made money from signings, and there were not millions extra in Tv money every year, and we were not one of the most expensive places to watch football in the WORLD, the Op would have a point.

But we are bottom pf the table for 7 years running in tfr spend, and we ARE one the most expensive tickets in the world, and we DO have millions extra every year from TV, and our wage bill has DECREASED.

They are taking the piss.

Our manager gets the player he wants and you give up your season ticket in disgust because we haven't spent more. Says more about you than anything else.

Desperation is a horrid perfume. What a bang average player. Enjoy him toasting a full back and slamming a poorly shaped cross out for a goal kick.

you do know that Yarmolenko apparently has a spin problem, so do we need to be signing players with a medical problem

And this is what Danny Murphy has to say about that;

"I don't think that a few good games at Euro 2016 warrant the £30m fee that Moussa Sissoko has been valued at, certainly given the form that he showed for Newcastle last season.

He did go on to say that he might think Sissoko would be good for us because of his pace, and hopes that Poch can bring the best out in him.

Disclaimer: Not a Sissoko fan, just trying to be positive.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by Sissoko too. It reminds me when we had Parker and Sandro, there was zero creativity. People will say they can protect the midfield but I thought Dier and Dembele (when fit) could do that
