I wonder how much of a coincidence it is that Peace has now stepped down. Perhaps not so much directly because of his refusal to sell to us at the time, but because he then failed to do so the window afterwards before his value really started to go downhill. Maybe its to do with Berahino, maybe it isn't, but it does at least smell a bit..........
Yeah he's not there anymore I think he's hiding with his fingers in his ears playing that Naughty boy/Sam Smith song during the January window.

No way SB needs months at Fat camp yet he (Pulis) picked Charlie Adam when he was at his fattest, he never wanted to play him up front (as he's not an 8ft monster) he maybe being unprofessional, but he was not wanted by the manager and there are lots of quotes from Pulis around the time we were bidding that say as much.

Think son will now be back up to Kane so we may not need any additions this month

But it proven he can't play as lone front man..Think back to Sept and October. We need an effective deputy for Kane, as Son and Janssen are not.

Think we should offer £8m on the condition that Jeremy Peace has to do the walk of Atonement down from Seven Sisters to WHL, with Levy playing the part of Septa Unella...

Kane starts 38 league games a year when fit. A proven back up not on silly wages is almost impossible

Agree, look at the Chavs, what back up do they have for Costa?

They signed Batman for big money in the summer, and he barely gets a look in, they have no like for like replacement, and when Costa was out they went with Hazard in a false 9 role.

Man U have no direct back up to Ibra, Arse none to Giroud (who has been a bit part up until his fluke goal last week) and City and the dippers have no big front man.

two big men up top (or two lone front me) is not that important with how we play IMO

Wasn't that the real argument for Berahino is that he'd be able to play a role as a winger/second striker/backup?

Yet we have always slagged off levy for selling our stars. How we wishes we had turned down bids and kept them, even if they went for a lower price. We were annoyed but hats off to Peace, he did what he thought was right for his club and wouldn't be bullied by us

Levy has always been good dealing with want-away players though. Modric, Bale, Berba, Carrick, etc. I can't think of a player we've sold away to make a quick buck who both 1. was critical and 2. wanted to stay.

Can't believe this thread. You want to replace Janssen a young player busting a gut to make it with us, with a player that's hardly played or scored in the last 2 years and obviously has ego issues????

Apart from the cup game can someone please list all of the chances that Janssen has missed that Berahino would score? It's complete Bullshit that he's played badly, is slow, missed lots of chances, out of his depth etc

You lot are like spoilt kids just want something new all the time. We get Berahino and you'll be hounding him out in 12 months wanting some other "In" name. I swear it's like an OCD, someone mentions x player and all of a sudden one by one you all start to create an imaginary history and future for that player whereby he's gone from average to a potential world class superstar.

I don't think anyone wants to replace Janssen Berahino would be an additional striker who would be a cheap risk would could come good and be massive for us. Janssen does not look ready for the prem.

Totally agree, there's no way that we should be trying to replace Janssen with anyone. The kid has the right tempremant and work ethic to be a success for us but he just needs time to adapt.

Having said that, I personally think we should look at bringing in Berahino as an alternative option. He would cost considerably less now than when we bid 25m for him and there would be less pressure on him. He gets the move he wants and Poch can work his magic and possibly get him back to his best. He's a natural goal scorer. If it doesn't pan out then we cut our minimal losses and move on.

If he was going to be cheap enough for us to warrant a bid (and that would be seriously cheap) teams like WHU would be all over it and throwing money at it. They have the begging bowl out as it is.

True and a fair point. I guess until we know what WBA are asking then it's hardly worth looking at.

He's been busy on social media again as it seems. Posted a pic on Instagram with a line saying something like "They say I'm not fit #OK" with a couple of angry emojis.

What about Rashford? Everyone was fapping over him little while back and now Ibra is flavour of month again he gets forgotten lol.

They can also move Martial into a centre role as that is probably his main position really (he's just played wide as pacey and they prefer Ibra of Rashford as the central one).

Chelski really should be giving Batman chances when Costa if out but hey ho he should've come to us lol so that's his problem.
