I think we should buy him for £6m, give him a 4 year contract and sell him for £15m in the summer just to wind Peace up.

I really would like us to go all out for him.

- He provides pace up top.
- He can play lone striker.
- He could play wide of Kane (although this is open for debate but certainly an option).
- He's a proven premiership goalscorer.
- He's English.
- He's struck up a very productive youth partnership with Kane at youth level so would be ideal if we stuck with 3-5-2- (which I would :love:).

In terms of his attitude he didn't handle himself in the best way at West Brom but I think their chairman was being a bit of a twat himself.

He's at West Brom, no disrespect to them as always been fond of them, but they have a dinosaur manager and really achieve mid-table at best.

Then he looks over at Spurs and trying not to be rose-tinted, we have an excellent training ground, a new state of the art stadium being built, loads of English lads for him to come and play with and a manager who isn't a dinosaur lol.

I wouldn't even say he's a replacement for Janssen either as would view as more taking pressure off Janssen, who can then come off bench during matches where we have won and sometimes for tactical reasons we may even want three strikers on the bench! (or if playing two up top then have a back-up on bench).

As a side note would also like to see Harrison put in the mix making it four strikers in squad.

Fuck me that was a long post...

23 goals in 105 games is crap. Poor attitude for club paying his wages. Huge no. He cant even get in west broms side in the minute. 4 in 31 last season. Get leko from west brom instead imo

I vote we just buy him so we can sell him in the next window and therefore never be linked with him ever again.

When you say games you mean appearances, like you say he doesn't get picked so doesn't play many "games".
I think it is pretty clear he and Pulis understand neither wants the other.

14 goals in 2014/15 season and 10 goals in 11 games for England under 21s makes me think he is a risk but very decent..

wouldnt be bothered by a small bid I still think there's a player there but he's not going to have an impact this season

Makes you realise what a plonker Peace was to turn down the money in the first place. Stoke also bid big on him and it all came to nothing. Now he has an unhappy player with 6months on his deal worth a fraction of what he could have sold for.

Fantastic way to step up to Levy there Jeremy.

Yet we have always slagged off levy for selling our stars. How we wishes we had turned down bids and kept them, even if they went for a lower price. We were annoyed but hats off to Peace, he did what he thought was right for his club and wouldn't be bullied by us

Don't get me wrong, you can't fault him for doing what he felt was right for his club but in my opinion, not only did he make the wrong call given the money on the table AND more importantly the attitude of the player and desire to leave - but he also got too caught up in trying to make a name for himself in the process. Ultimately his actions could cost his club £20m in fees.

Nobody wants their team to sell their best players but if they do, they want to ensure that they get a fair price for them. His ego cost his club the chance to do that.

We offered 23 million for berahino which I think was a fair price, so ultimately it was peace's ego that cost them in the end.

Trouble was that the player had his head turned and went into a sulk that he never came out of. Can't even get in the team now since Rondon arrived. Should have let him go when Rondon was bought but Peace was intent on arm wrestling Levy.

Well if you believe what was said at the time that Pulis didn't actually want SB and was happy for him to be sold, then it looks like Peace just wanted to beat Levy at his own game and failed monumentally.

Keeping a player that doesn't want to be there and the manager doesn't really want to use, is hardly right for the club, especially in light of £25m bids. (of which they will now receive a fraction)

Possibly losing out on 20-23 million - that's gotta hurt as could have been re-invested in players and (no disrespect) WBA are one of the smaller clubs in the league so that's a lot of money!

I wonder how much of a coincidence it is that Peace has now stepped down. Perhaps not so much directly because of his refusal to sell to us at the time, but because he then failed to do so the window afterwards before his value really started to go downhill. Maybe its to do with Berahino, maybe it isn't, but it does at least smell a bit..........
