Technically he's incorrect as they have an inferior goal difference. Therefore, not equal.

They're not, that's why they have a 3 by their name, because they have an inferior goal difference...

He said "equal with second" implying they are equal with another team. If he meant they were in 2nd - he would have said "we are 2nd"
They are equal on points - goal differential really means nothing until the end of the season.

The goal difference means they are currently in third, that is "technically" correct which was my point in the first place.

Agree.. If the season finished right now theywould be acknowledged as ended in 3rd place. Behind the runners up.

They didn't say they weren't 3rd and the fact that the said equal with 2nd is an acknowledgement that they aren't 2nd.
I hate Liverpool and their fans too but scraping the barrel to try and find traces of delusion and/or arrogance is pathetic and completely unnecessary given the amount of ammo they provide every week.

meh - there is enough to laugh about when it comes to Liverpool and their full-kit wankers, this does not even register.
ETA - They know they are not in second, but they also know they are right there with us. Its a tight race. Lets not get caught up in semantics.
