Some stuff from a Sunderland site:

no combination of the players we have will stop Spurs turning us over big style

It's too depressing to think about isn't it? Spurs must be licking their lips at the prospect of facing that quality of opponent. It's almost unbelievable to think that the side that starts will on Tuesday will have only 2 players who have scored for us in the PL this season - Defoe of course and Borini with a huge 1 goal. That shows how lacking we are in quality and creativity and if you can't make chances and score goals what chance have you got.

Sadly we will also miss PVA bombing on down the left. At least it gives the oppo something to think about and they have to play a bit deeper to counter that.

Rose and walker will destroy us down the flanks and the movement of alli and dembele will tear us to pieces.

Given how easily we concede from set pieces eriksen is going in as captain of my dream team.

Yeah we restricted them to 19 shots, 2/3rds possession and 3 points

And finally they don't love Rodwell:
Mannone

Jones - Kone - Denayer - Manquillo

Anyone but fucking Rodwell- Larsson - Ndong

Honeyman - Defoe - Borini

Van Arnholt signing for palace is a blow to them. They are really lacking any decent fit defenders and if Lescott carries on where he left off last year it could be a white wash. Classic game where we will probably score early and then threaten to give it away by being casual in the second half.

As much as its only Sunderland a win hear with the chavs playing Liverpool could be significant for us moving forwards.

I think that's the old Spurs in all honesty. We haven't really had an away game like that this season apart from maybe Boro away but we hadn't even gotten into our stride at that point. I think if we control the midfield which we most likely will we will continue to create chances throughout and should get a few goals.

Think this one will be tougher than people think. I know they haven't been the best this year, but we struggled to a 1-0 victory at the lane this season. They have a squad of experienced PL campaigners who will set out to frustrate us.

We were far from our best at WHL and we still dominated them, this isn't a game I worry about and I think the players will be confident of a victory.

I good opportunity to keep the gd ticking over nicely - I want 3 points without failure and a relentless performance... I.e. Win by at least 2 goals - no nail-biting scrape through. With all due respect to Sunderland: they're a big club on a journey that's turned thoroughly sour, but we should be smashing them!

Seems most fans of both clubs are assuming that we'll welcome back Kane, Rose and Toby into our starting XI, as if we're missing Toby and Kane then I see this being very tricky. I'm sure if our team is announced and those two are missing then the Sunderland fans will become a lot more confident.

All 3 available according to Poch:

Pochettino told a news conference on Monday: "Harry Kane is OK and trained well today. He's available for Sunderland. The same goes for Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose."

Feeling pretty good about things, then.

We had 75% possession and 31 shots on goal. Not sure struggled is the right word to use.

Possibly the best ever post on RedCafe:

"Why is there so much hate for Spurs in this thread?

If another team promoted and trusted youth, low net spend, invested in facilities and so on whilst punching above their weight many here would applaud that club. Swansea and Southampton are recent examples.

But if a club takes another step up they are suddenly a shit club since they haven't won anything, and will collapse since one of the richest clubs can splash cash on some of their players or some other reason.

It's pathetic"

Possibly because a lot of our fans didn't give them credit last year and claimed they only won the league because their players were on drugs.

Can't blame them. Some of our fans have no class.

I thought we'd stopPED all that nonsense... ;)
