What? I can think of a number of times our defenders have stood out for their contributions defensively. Davies never has.

Doesn't mean he's not good enough - he's a backup player FFS. He's there to do a job when called upon. If he was pulling out motm performances everytime he played, he wouldn't want to be sitting on our bench.

It was summed up perfectly by hoddle or mcmanMan in the commentary. Chelsea went there and played cautious, rode out the storm and could have won it. That's what champions do. We went and were so naive.

And that I'm afraid is down to the manager. I love Poch but he got it completely wrong today. I have no idea what we spent all week working on to prepare for this game.

The title's gone for sure, I want us to give both cups a good go now, we are capable of winning both.

Not sure why Dier played left side centre half, he's been right recently.
Not that it makes any difference when he does what he did for the 2nd goal but just struck me as odd to mess about with the structure & expose Davies.

For all the people who say we don`t pace look at the difference a player like Mane makes. We have no one who runs in behind like Mane does.. That should be the number one priority in the summer

Agree, but the doubt in my mind is how blunt we're starting to look in attack.

We need to sharpen up big time or we could be in real danger of dropping out of the top four.

Have missed Rose's thrust down the left for sure though.
I'm not too worried about the goals, they will come. Kane has shown he will score in this league. BIt of cup action to take the mind of it now for them anyway, hopefully we can score a few and get going in the league again.

Ok, so it will be like 5-1. Great.
Hey, let me tell you this.. You may not agree to everyone's opinion, but by saying that is much of an insult to the team we all support.. So just one guy, Son, staying on playing and you feel the rest of the team is as good as dead and we will lose 5-1.. That probably makes your assumption of GKN coming on as Son's sub to be a Messi-level grade of saviour.. I am not sure which is funnier.. But you may laugh off as a joke, which I think you did by your rating on my post.. I leave it till the end before rating yours but decided against, since the team has more integrity to keep it 2-0 instead of your 5-1 delight..

They won't though. Whenever we lose they completely hide away. I bet there won't be an instagram live session on the plane home today. They're soft.

To be fair we did at Chelsea, and deserved a draw, and got a decent point at the Emirates.

But our set up was totally wrong tonight, it was staring us in the face all week where the game would be won and we duly Bent over and got the lube out.

Playing against Liverpool at Anfield was always going to be about taking away their attacking intiative. We had Rose and Verts out, and they had Mane back in. This is Poch’s worst ever game for me. We handed it to them today. Son and Davies weren’t the horses for the courses, even before the game. That f…ker Mane needs to be man-marked throughout the game.

Absolute disaster and calamity of a performance.

No intensity, no urgency, no passion. The boys simply walked onto the pitch, pulled their shorts down and stuck out their asses for a relentless 90minute rapefest.

Pochettino stood by the touchline like a stone statue. No reaction.

It's really baffling, there is no reason for a performance like that. Looked like the whole team was struck with some kind of a juju shit or something.

Because the teams at the top know how to play against us tactically & have the ability to do it.
We've got 2 systems now but unfortunately missing vertonghen & rose, poch obviously wasn't comfortable with the 3-4-3 .
Shows how badly we miss our first choice players. Our summer buys need to be able to really challenge the first XI.

Our summer buys NEED to be better than what we already have, in whichever position. Too many players in this team are guaranteed to start, that is not a recipe for success!

At least it's been proved again that we're not quite as good as we think we are and that we struggle against opponents with pace up front.

This doesn't bode well for next season -when we play on a much bigger pitch- either. Massive investment needed over the summer TW...

Poch talks about us going up another level this year and yet our away form this season (4 away wins all season) is woefully bad and not that of a top 4 side.
