imo those regular spots training with the first team would be saved for the 'elites' like your edwards and sterlings. Tsaroulla, shashoua etc would probably go on loan. the next person i expect to do the full time training would be Oakley-Boothe
Shashoua imo is definitely in the elite category he's class, I assume sterling is getting fast tracked to first team training because of the obvious need for an impactful backup striker.

Do we not think that this is essentially just referring to the fact that he'll be turning pro and training with the first team constantly rather than the Academy with occasional first team?
Isn't that all we can expect, the point is it's a start and it seems poch rates sterling so that's reason enough to be excited. I'm sure if we get a easy draw in the league cup next year we'll get to see kazaiah get some game time.

I would say Shashoua has been the player of the year for the u18s.

He has improved massively and over the season he has probably been our most consistent performer week in week out.

What he has added to his game is strength, when he first came to the u18s he was getting pushed off the ball a lot but I am happy to say now that is not the case.

Probably the wrong thread, but Ryan Sessegnon scored two for Fulham today, how much chance do we have to get this kid in?

no doubting hes a quality player but imo hes nowhere near ready for first team demands which makes me think he will go on loan before being a first team player

Yeah but loaning kids with a future is not poch's style or preference, he'll play a season or so at u23 level while training every fairly regularly with the first team, before being full integrated.

would guess it depends on how much game time and chance of progression we could give him compared to our rivals. would have thought city, arsenal and liverpool would all be in for a lb, maybe utd too depending on shaw. if i were him i'd probably be thinking spurs have rose and davies in my position, both at a good age, going to be a struggle to get past them. liverpool look the best bet out of the big clubs given they only have milner there doing a job and klopp's shown to play young players. we/they may not even view him as a full back though so there are a lot of variables to consider.

Could of had a hat trick if it wasn't for the other Fulham player who took the penalty off him. Would have been an amazing achievement for a 16 YO defender!

Glad they missed the pen in the end.

Who are the elite youngsters? Based on what I've read is it?

Edwards
Sterling
Shashoua
Boothe

??
Of those who played most of the season at the u18 level, Tanganga, eyoma, Whiteman, skipp, Griffiths those on the edge some closer than others roles, marsh, tsaroulla, dinziyi Duncan, bennetts.

Shashoua is a player everyone likes. He's just so enjoyable to watch. Low centre of gravity, clever feet, good change of direction, decent pace over shot distances, excellent when starting in the channels rather than no.10 where things get quite intense. Although not the biggest I'd love to see Edwards and Shashoua developed as our two wide players going forward. Both excellent talents.

i think you're underselling tsaroulla here tbh, only tanganga and shashoua rival him for the level and consistency of his performances this season. maybe he still goes under the radar a bit because he was in brown's shadow not so long ago but he's made massive strides this year.

No i rate nick as a player and even more as a person despite him being a gooner. My only concern is we clearly have interest in sessegnon so it may limit his chances.

Definitely get the right vibe off him. Every time I've watched the lad play it's thrilling and he's been one of Fulham's main catalysts. Presumably every team is going to be all over him but he'd thrive in our system and with our squad, as long as the game doesn't get to him mentally as the money and pressure grows.

You're not wrong but I never like to think of the top youngsters heading elsewhere. Personally, I also think Davies is a long-term back four left back or back three centre back.

I'd swap Sessegnon for Davies yesterday. I don't even think Davies is a great defender. In fact I literally think we should swap Davies for Sessegnon.
