Janssen should have passed to Dele. If the Saints had scored late on we would all have been blasting him.

On a positive note we are 9 points ahead of the scum and their next game is at home to Man City.

Not sure how Romeu stayed on the pitch. Ref forgot to book him for the blatant pull back, then the foul on the edge.of the.box, then three others.

Southampton fans say the same about Wanyama, him having a kick out after being on a yellow.
No point looking for send offs, think the refs did a decent effort today. They'll never be perfect.
Some refs would have been fooled by Tadic's teatrics too, think we should be happy with him.

Eh. Could put Dier there and CCV or Wimmer in the back 3(although that isnt preferable in the least). Need Wanyama fit.

Yep Alderweireld is a kinda right back / centre back hybrid in same way as Vertoghen is a left back / centre back hybrid so could easily play right side of three with Winner sandwiched between the Belgium boys.

...aren't there any other Premier League teams you could support if your subconscious racism makes you prefer short, slow white guys?

Good first half. Under the cosh a bit in the second but saw it out well. That's what 10 wins on the spin at the Lane? All started with West Ham and when me and my mates changed from the Pride to The Ship for pre and post game drinks #theshiprules (y)

Was not at our best today but fuck it we used to lose these games and now we don't.
We have consolidated second spot going into the break and a semi final to look forward to how lucky we are now.

Southampton gave us a bit of a scare there. But we held on. Can't win them all at a canter. We move on.

Even at 2-1 we didn't look that nervy and was very well organized. Should never have conceded but 3 points is all that matters and a 9 point gap on woolwich! COYS!

At no point should anyone utter the phrase "downward spiral", please!

Solid win against a decent side and plenty of positives. I do worry about us in Europe though because that was a very premier league game. Giving the ball away a lot and very frantic at times. Tripper came on and was quite sloppy which is fine against most teams in the PL but costly in Europe if we have aspirations of not just being in the CL but competing.

Liverpool could have had a penalty against Man City which involved a bit of a push on Mane running clear. I hope the incident will be replayed as often as the Kyle Walker one.

Mind the gap? Or too early?
