They literally had one other serious chance other than the goal and if not for Forster having great reflexes they'd have been 4 down and they seriously think there's no gulf in class? GTFO!

Even their penalty appeal was bull as Redmond was clearly offside before he got the free-kick that led to it.

They were the better team? Based on what?? It's amazing what other teams fans see.
True and their players seem to think they were better and deserved at least draw too, I guess they are just used to being second best so when they have a quite good performance they get carried away.

I thought their play up until our penalty area was very good and at times during the 2nd half they played through our midfield which was slightly concerning.

We still had the better chances though, despite not being anywhere near our best.

Missed Kane badly. Not even so much his finishing, but ability to hold the ball up. Jansenn should have been on 20 mins earlier.

Agree with this. We played pretty well first half and could of been 3 up.

Second half was a real concern. First time all season were we relinquished control of the game for such long spells.

They manouevered the ball well but lacked real cutting edge in the final third but it was enough for some uncomfortable viewing.

We missed Kane as a focal point, just couldn't hold the ball for long enough second half.

Probably based on the patch of the game where they had 65% possession. The fact that they did bugger all with it seems to have escaped them.

Once Eriksen scored I was completely confident that we'd go on to win. Southampton played well, but we coasted through that and never looked like losing. Says it all really.

Before kick off on Arsemania there's a mixture of bullish confidence and a sense of foreboding and unavoidable gloom...

Think we'll win this, fairly confident in fact.

I'm gonna put a lot of trust into your words and bet 50% of my savings on this game!

They don't have much left to play for, but I'm sure Pulis will get his men fired up for this one.

3-1 to WBA.

Yeah? You should probably put some money on that...

This is our time to shine: out of Europe, chances for the PL title gone, FA Cup up for grabs. I expect us not only to win but put in a good performance. We will go on a hot streak starting from this game.

Agreed, we're struggling for top 4 and out of Europe, Wenger has been triggered champagne football incoming. It happens every season.

Remember 11/12 we legit went on a 8/9 game winning streak and in 12/13 we won 8 of our last 10 games drawing the other two. While in 14/15 we went on an amazing run which saw us drop very few points from the NLD defeat to the win over WBA.

It's almost inevitable.

good, some positive vibes for once! Of course we can win, and the players need to show that first 60 minutes v Bayern intent and go for it. I think we'll win - now I know it's gonna be quoted back if we don't hehe - and why the hell not?!

Why the hell not indeed!

Really feel Özil's going to have a big game for us saturday and show the world he's still the chief playmaker!

West Brom 0 4 Arsenal

I said this last season and I'll say it again:

With Wenger there are two absolute certainties, finishing in the top 4, and finishing above Spurs. For as long as that man is here, that won't change.

We wont win this game imo, and we'll gradually lose touch of 4th. We'll be 6th after Man Utd beat Boro on Sunday.

If we lose, the players can **** off, if we draw they can **** off and if we win, they can **** off.

Walcott to stick a middle finger up at Southgate and score a hat trick

They'll smash us.

Love the starting line up - come on boys let's ****ing perform now!

I can wank off to this line up, back in 40 seconds...

Hmmm... Maybe make that 90 minutes...

1-0

**** off Cech you absolute cretin

No surprise, idiocy at it's best. Zonal marking our undoing yet again.

Breaking news!

We still can't defend set pieces.

But still there's hope, it's only 15 minutes in, after all...

Whatever - we'll put 2 or 3 past this lot.

This guy is certain Arsenal will turn things around, no problem...

4-1 will do nicely.

Second half, and Hal Robson-Kanu is on...

Bet this tosser scores for WBA

Ospina what a joke.

Hahahahaa, that defending.

Embarrassing, lads.

We are ****ing ****e

Robson-Kanu... yet another low for us.

Arsenal fans really are quite prescient! And that guy is still sure Arsenal are heading for three points...

4-2 will do it.

Ospina reminds me of Almunia..Pure ****

Convince me that our defence isn't ****ing **** Lumped ball, Mustafi times it badly and we're cut open. You'd laugh if you saw it in a Sunday League game.

Theo Walcott, having stuck zero fingers up to anyone, is taken off...

Go away Theo, you were never meant to be a footballer.

Good game, Theo. Six completed passes, two more than last week.

Sanchez's body language is at it again...

Alexis can't wait for this game to be over.

Season more like

Arsenal career

3-1

**** that. Wenger out

Welcome midtable

I am ****ing done everything in this club is toxic from the team till the board.

Hahahahahahahahaha, we're ****e.

But there's 15 minutes still to go, surely there must still be some hope?

4-3 we can do this.

Full time

Hope city SMASH us in the FA cup. It's worth the nail in the coffin for Wengers time here.

Go on Ox. Go clap the fans you light skin ninja turtle.

We're getting bent over the kitchen table by City next week.

On the plus side, you won't be playing against Bayern next season.

Didn't someone predict 3-1 at the start of the thread?

Damn, should have put some money on this.

Monreal is crying

Is he actually?

What a nonce.

Then, this lovely little tête-à-tête...

Good night and good luck, Wenger, you doddering, dithering, driveling dictator.

There's no need for that. Get a grip woman.

No you piss off and see that old bearded guy in the stands behind Wenger, that's your mum that is.

I can tell you exactly what is going to come from it mate...
Van Dijk - £35m
Gabbiadini - £28m
Forster - 18m
And repeat...

Couldn't believe it when the commentor said Forster had just turned 29, he's still being talked about as a bright young thing of English goalkeeping isn't he???... Donnarumma says hello

Not sure what game the Southampton fans were watching? First half we should have been 3 or 4 up, we were complacent in the 2nd and Southampton were better but I don't remember Hugo having a save to make and their goal came from a mistake from Toby.

Response:
Assume you are conveniently ignoring the fact that we were playing away to 2nd in the table Spurs - that'll be the same Spurs who are unbeaten at home this season. Throw in the fact that they were granted a soft penalty and we were denied a stonewall one plus the fact that Gabbi got injured. Spurs were holding on for most of the second half but don't let that cloud your judgement.

Another one:

The way some people are reacting suggests that they thought we were going to turn over 2nd placed spurs, at their place were they haven't lost this season and conceded only 7 goals (eight now)...

This game was always likely to be a loss. Compounded by a ropey first half, our new super striker going off injured and the usual unluckiness with the Ref teams get when playing spurs. All things considered we gave a decent account of ourselves second half to a team that destroyed high flying Everton only a couple of weeks ago.

We had a jittery second half after they scored but they hardly put us under the kosh. Did they force Hugo to make even one save after they scored?

They had three shots on target all game, one was Soares in the first half, so one at most.

Southampton, they are the prostitutes of the premier league, regularly get fucked but think they are still better than everyone else.

Southampton are a good team. Very tidy and technically sound. But their way of playing was going to play in our hands and it did in the first half. We were finding a lot of joy in the final third because [and this isn't a negative] they commit men forward. It's good to see a team come to the Lane and have the balls to try pass the ball around and build up play. For starters it means we have LOTS more room to create chances and kill the game but also they're trying to compete rather than rudimentary park the bus and keep the score down tactics.

Even at our worst PL standard we kept trying to play the right way and have a go at teams no matter how superior they were.

It's not really "end of" is it. We were the better side against a fantastic Spurs team. 2-2 would have flattered Spurs I think. It is clear that there is no gulf in class between the two sides and I for one am exited about what's to come from this team.

Agreed, oh and the twenty six point gap between to two sides would prove your hypothesis i guess?
