No other season has been like this season. The vitriol and protesting etc is not something he has experienced. If he stays I think it means the penny has dropped. Sometimes the penny just drops, you're in denial etc but think now he knows that this would be the real last chance saloon and he will be backed and he will spend.

Players bring in winning mentality and that will rub off on the existing players.

But that's my view. I could be totally wrong and he could be a stubborn old **** whose happy to earn 10m a year. If I earn 10m a year I wouldn't care what any of you fuckers said.

Every season has been exactly like this season as far as the're concerned :D

Players like Sanchez, Cech and Ozil were meant to bring in winning mentality...they're still stagnant.

I always like Arsenal's situation to ours because I can see where they've gone wrong. 3 years ago we had players who didn't want to play for the club, we had no direction, fans totally disconnected with the club and fans disillusioned as to where the club was heading etc...a new manager came in and totally changed the mentality and direction of the club, that's what Arsenal need.

Don't get me wrong. I understand why Arsenal fans want him to go. But the one thing you cannot knock him for is his ability to finish above us. 20 out of 20. Eleven different Spurs managers have tried and failed against him. Ginola, King, Keane, Defoe, Lennon, Berbatov, Bale, Modric, Van Der Vaart, Lloris, Eriksen, Kane, Alli....all the wonderful memories these guys gave us, and yet they were all in the shadow of Wenger and his superior side.

IF (and it's a big IF) we finish above them this season then I can understand laughing and singing about wanting him to stay. But otherwise, this is ridiculous. If you'd gone back to 1996 when we finished behind them on the final day of the season, having come above them in two of the previous three, and said that they're going to appoint a manager who is going to finish above us every single season for two decades but our fans are going to start singing "We want you to stay" at him while the run is still going, what would you think?!?!?!?

I want to end him this year. Smash them in the last NLD at the Lane, end the hoodoo of finishing below them, then smash them in the cup final, then don't give him a chance to get back at us next year. Tarnish the legend. Have the final say.

Them finishing above us in the last few years isn't down to Wenger, it's down to us totally throwing it away and bottling it for various reasons, that period more or less co-indices when Arsenal have become stagnant under Wenger.

Strangely this had never occurred to me before...

Mate it's not a FEW years...it's 21 years, 315 days, 20 hours and 31 minutes...

Read what I said in context, we're talking about Arsenal period of stagnation and our upturn in form in the last few years, us not finishing above them has been down to us more than the genius or ability of Wenger

Good.

I can actually see it from their owners perspective too though. He's consistent. Every year they get into the CL and get through the group stages. That's a lot of cash to bring in, and from their point of view that's the bottom line. Throw in the cups he's won over the years, he looks like a reliable manager. I'm sure the chairmen have looked at the situation at United since Fergie left and are hesitant about rocking the boat.

I get the frustration from their fans as well. They want to challenge for the title, and are stuck in a strange limbo where they stay as a major club but can't break into the upper echelons. They're treading water instead of progressing. The fans don't care about the money. They just want success.

Anyway, fuck 'em. Fingers crossed we finish above them and really crank up the pressure.

The owners are probably looking at how well Man Utd are doing in the UEFA Cup and how well Chelsea are doing without the distraction of Europe and thinking that they're in a bit of a no-lose situation. They either qualify for the Champions league again and make more money, they qualify for the UEFA league and start as one of the favourites, or they can concentrate on the league and benefit from all of the extra preparation time.

I grant you 2011-12 and last season. The rest? No way. They were better than us, plain and simple.

Look Arsenal have potentially massive resources, we don't, they are happy at the moment with Wenger and 4th placed trophy.

I don't want Wenger gone only to be replaced by someone like Allegri who will probably be given big funds as an incentive to come and could make them seriously competitive again.

No one is denying Wenger hasn't been good but he is stagnant now, this is our opportunity to get level with them despite them being let's be honest a bigger club.

It's about performing to your potential, we are and they ain't, and that is the bottom line. A few more years of Wenger and we will be in our new big stadium hopefully with Poch and an even better squad. At that point the gap will slowly begin to close in resource terms while Arsenal will be left with a post Wenger rebuild job.

That's not my point...My point is that us not finishing above Arsenal were more often than not self inflicted in that period than the supposed 'ability' of Wenger to finish above us which is what I'm referring to.

If arsenal fail to qualify for europe next season, then they may have a free run at the league, That squad only playing 38 games will be guaranteed top 4 again, and maybe even a shot at the title. Fuck, bit of a double edged sword.

They'll probably have to finish 7th for that to happen, they'll still be in Europa League don't forget.
