I'm not actually that bothered about losing today, not as gutted as I thought I would be anyway

I'm more interested in trying to catch them in the league or at least maintaining our position as runners up

I know silverwear is more important to most, and I fully understand why but for me personally I felt more disappointing with the draw to Sunderland and will be more happy for us to win the next 3 league games than to have won today and dropped points in the up coming league games

Chelsea goalscorer Nemanja Matic at pitchside live on 5 live Sport: "It was a nice goal! But first of all I want to say I am very happy for the team, that we're going to play in the final.

"Today was hard against a very good team. Congratulations to Spurs, who didn't give up.

"I am happy for my goal, it was a great goal, but it's not the best I've ever scored. I scored a harder one in a Benfica v Porto derby... this is perhaps my second best ever!

"It's great when you have a chance to play in this stadium. For our supporters, you can see this is something special. To have a chance to win this trophy is significant for us as players.

"This result gives us more confidence of course - it's always good to win. Now we have to recover quickly for the next game on Tuesday.
"

Respectful and professional - well done.

I will probably get a lot of dislikes for this, but if Arsenal goes to the final, I hope they win it. I don't want cheater Chelski to win the double. And I don't want that moron Conte flapping around like an epileptic bird when they win. He's just too much.

'Outplayed them' is such an irrelevant argument. The height of straw-clutching. It's how the game was always going to pan out as it's how both teams look to play. Us with the ball, Chelsea sitting and soaking up pressure and then getting the job done on the counter with ruthless efficiency.

For all our dominance of the ball clear chances were few and far between (granted, they got away with several million fouls), and then our team with the best defensive record in the league goes and makes silly errors and could have prevented all four goals... To me at the crunch we didn't give our best and play up to the standards set. It's disappointing.

If we dont at least secure 2nd i will be dissapointed

I couldn't care less now to be honest. So clearly not winning it, we'll probably be either a point ahead going into the last game and lose 8-7 at Hull or finish 6th below Arsenal.

Champions League was the epitome of dull this season and it'll be the same next season.

I think if you look at our last 3 games at Wembley against Chelsea, we've given them a closer game each time.

We need to get over the Wembley problem urgently. We seem to defend so much worse here than in any other game.
That's because there's more room in behind which our two centre backs are great st facing the game but less comfortable chasing balls behind them

I (very) grudgingly like your post. ;)

Surely after losing 7 semi finals in a row we have to stop blaming "the rub of the green" at some point?

Good enough to get to semi final, not good enough to win.

Just the way it is with us. Probably why it's cuts a bit deeper as you hope this version of spurs is different. But not really, still not winners.

I will say this though, commentators going on about the difference between the sides being that Chelsea had game changes on their bench and we have a lack of depth.
If we had a fit team which he haven't had once I don't think, we would've had Son, Lamela, winks, Janssen on the bench. So I disagree with that.

A defence shambles today. None of the back were goid bar Vertonghen. Hugo a bit of a party clown especially

We are almost there. We just haven't got that edge to win these games yet

We simply don't have the quality in depth, they beat us without starting three first team players.

None of that Chavs squad have signed up to lose a semi-final 4-2.

Thats the difference, rolling over a Bournemouth or a WBA is all well and good but when we are at the business end we are simply not good enough whether that be CL or a Cup semi-final.

Lot of idiots in herr tonight. Sorry but it has to be said.

In a cup-game with two teams, one will lose.

To go on about this meaning we will never win anything, and that we don't have the mentality is just utter shit...!

How does mentality prevent matic from scoring that goal?

Get a grip.

It did show how weak our bench is. As good as our starting 11 is (with Rose in it) our bench is very poor. I know Lamela is still to come back but we need to clear a few players out and make some good signings in the summer. I'm not too dispondant. We're 2nd in the league and if someone had offered me that at the beginning of the season I'd have snapped their arm off.

I'm the same. I dislike Arsenal but I hate Chelsea.

@Grey Fox @Teddy Klinsmann

How WTF?

We were the better team. Scored two cracking goals, but a tactical error and a sloppy start, meant we were sitting at 2-2 and not 2-0 (2-1 at worst) when their quality came off the bench.

That was our game to win today. In my very humble opinion.

Horrible, horrible, horrible a new record of 7 semi-final defeats. A flood of corners and domination, still lose Spursy tag just can't seem to shift. 1 bloody corner!

Major hand was Hazard and Costa on bench I have to say masterstroke from Conte.

Bounce-back-ability starts for us Wednesday

You're talking about the result, but ultimately there is a cause and a root cause behind those goals apart from Matic. I don't wanna dwell on it though,

I don't think you can call it luck though, they are street wise so to speak, we are too fucking nice. They are winners, they know how to win,

I dont get that. They couldnt prevent us from scoring today, and we should have scored 3 or 4. They are winners vevside they keep calm under pressure, but the rest is luck.

the positivity is strong in this one. We need to keep our best players, improve each year or back to square one

Chelsea drop points on Tuesday will give us s lift for Wednesday. They used a lot of energy today not long to recover...

But won and rested two of their better players, oh and Cahil not sure when your confidence is up, energy levels take that long to recover - it's us i worry about now and its massively important we take 3 points at Palace.
