Any team that lets in four goals does not deserve to fucking win a game of football.

Goals win games, possesion, amount of corners or free kicks count for nowt.

We made too many unforced errors, fielded a poor team selection and system and had not one player who we could bring off the bench who would make a shits difference.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that.
Indeed. In all probability the last two teams to be PL champions will be counter attacking teams.

Yep. Once again people are confusing dominance of a game with deserving to win a game. Chelsea's goals weren't lucky. They punished our defence frailties with ruthless efficiency. If it was the other way round nobody here would be saying we deserved to lose.

In other news, with Everton's draw today, the lowest we can finish in the league is 6th place.:cautious:

Dont agree entirely mate.

Conte went defensive and thats why he dropped costa, who is out of form and hazard, who doesnt defend.

You can also say we had 3 first teamers not starting in rose walker and lamela and a rusty kane.

We will come good and the mentality is there.

Lamela helped get us to where exactly this season?

Walker should have started and we should have stuck to a winning side.

We were better than them, and that in itself is unbelievable when you considering our resources against theirs. They won the battle but the tide is turning.. very proud yid here :)

The tide IS turning, the only trouble is it'll be turning for the rest of your life!!!

Gonna get some flak for this but people saying they are proud of the team and that we played well are part of the problem.

As a club we accept defeat far too easily, the players come in to the game nervous and almost expect to concede every time we equalize.

We lost because we made unforcered errors in key areas of the pitch. Chelsea were far more professional and didn't really give up any easy chances, we had to do some exceptional things to score.

In the end fans of any other top four club would not come away from a semi final defeat where they had conceded 4 goals saying they were proud of the team.

Until we as a club demand better we will always be bridesmaids.

Made massive strides in terms of our performance and quality of our starting 11, it is by distance best team I've ever seen us have.
In terms of our ability to win things we are no further forward than were 10 years ago though.

We completely outplayed Chelsea but once again when it really truly matters we messed it up. We made 3 huge defensive errors today to basically hand them the game.

This whole 'our time will come' feeling is nonsense in my opinion. You don't need to be a great team to win things. Man Utd could end the season with two trophies, Chelsea could win FA Cup despite being second best in the semi final.

I feel like today was bigger than fact we could have reached a final. It would have been a statement of change, that we were building a winning mentality in games when something huge was on the line.

Until we basically fluke a cup we're gonna struggle to achieve too much. The like of Chelsea and Utd even when not great are 'winning' teams, we are a 'losing' club. It's not bottling or bad luck, this luck has happened too much to be coincidence. We simply make shit decisions or shit errors in the big games, and if ever want to do something that has to change.

We may have a superb team with some incredible players but after today nothing has changed, we still do not look like ever winning anything.

Palace is huge, not so much in order to win the league but so we don't collapse after first setback. Because a collapse would show this team has serious mentality issues that will stop us ever winning the league.

Winner winner winner. 2nd in the league but we are proud of conceding 4 goals and losing to our title rival. Tells you all you need to know.

We outplayed a team that costs millions more than us who have an owner with a bottomless pit of money who is quite happy to spend 30m on players to sit in the stands rather than have them signing for another club. Honestly, it's a miracle we even compete on their level. That's why we're proud of the team.

We need more options - quality options - from the bench. The game smarts will come with time. Got to keep this team together. Dembele and Wanyama were immense.
