I think it's a good thing, and agree with those saying it will help us when we move to the new stadium.

One thing I would add is that if I wasn't a Spurs fan I'd consider this to be a further devaluing of the national stadium. It used to be a special venue you'd only get to experience in cup finals, England international games, and Live Aid. Now it's used more than Karen Brady's putrid snatch.

I hate to be downer. But this is the most spursy thing spurs are doing right now.

It would be much more 'spursy' to plan to build the best stadium in the country, only to have it run behind its projected timelines due to lack of funding / lack of support from the council / inability of TFL to build a train station / Brexit pushing up building costs / any other external reason.

Actually delivering this incredible stadium on time, with only one season away from Tottenham, with all the difficulties of funding and planning permission we have encountered over the last 10 years, and thus giving us the ability to compete with the richest clubs in the country for the next few decades, would be perhaps the least 'spursy' thing we have done in my 20+ years of supporting Spurs.

Those of you who are saying the team needs to get used to the size of the pitch may have forgotten that one of the advantages of the new training centre is that they have pitches with different grasses and lengths and also of different sizes. it's an easy matter to mark out the pitches the same size as Wembley and the new stadium at the lane. That said I do agree training is not the same as a competitive match, but it's not as bad as some of you seem to be implying.

Presumably we would be able to dictate the dimensions of the pitch for our Premier League fixtures, though?

I reckon we'll be alright at Wembley next season to tell you the truth, we're just gonna have to get over that hurdle and get used to the fact that it will be our home, I have faith!

Not sure it's that simple is it?
England will still have games there and I'm not sure it's something they will want to keep chopping and changing?!

Someone on here a couple of days ago put up the league regulations and all pitches should be a standard size unless they have got permission. So we can't vary the pitch size suit ourselves, unfortunately.

Pretty sure Spurs already have a replica of the Wembley pitch at the training ground.

I'm not worried about playing at Wembley. We bossed the game against Chelsea and we're unlucky to lose.

We will be just fine.

I feel sure you're right. A lot of the premiership clubs have the maximum size pitch allowed so it would make sense to train on one the same size.

Knew this announcement was coming, but after reading it I've bit hit with a real mixed bag of emotions.

Excitment that the new stadium is just over a year away. horror and trepidation that I will have to do the nightmare journey of getting to Wembley at least 20 times next season and finally sadness at saying good bye to the Lane as it is now

The cockerel on the memorabilia logo is an upgrade on our current one imo. Very nice design, and modern interpretation of the classic logo.

It's not the finale, it's a new chapter. Yes the old stadium is going, but we are effectively shifting the pitch a few metres. We're not leaving WHL, in fact we will be situated even closer to the actual WHL road, they just want to 'kill the name' for sponsorship reasons on the new stadium.

Not going to work though, I guarantee the first game in the new place the first thing that will happen is 10 minutes of 'we are Tottenham, from the Lane'.

I honestly dont think its pitch at all guys. For me its the vibe it gives off and the biiig sloping bowl in BRIGHT RED! It just feels foreign to me all the time and i think the design is so pants and un flatteting.

Love the keyring idea for one hotspur members- as long as the pitch invaders leave some grass left!

Wonder when they announce the season ticket details. Probably 5pm on Sunday.

A commemorative matchday programme will be produced and available to pre-order ahead of the match v Manchester United.
