£25m for one of Europe's top CBs sounds like a shocking deal to me.Wouldn't bother me if we accepted the release clause. €30m Euro for a player who by then will be 30yo ? Who we paid 12m for ?
Seems reasonable to me.

If we agreed to a new 4 + 1 year (including £25m release clause) I cant see how that would be unreasonable.
He would be 33 years old when the release clause is activated. £25m for a 33 year old? Absolutely.
It's quite simple, we need to pay players their worth otherwise they will move on. Levy needs to pay first team players 100-120k per week.
We have reached the stage where we will have to pay six figure weekly salaries to 5 or 6 players.
If that's still not enough to keep Toby without a release clause then we have problems as imo we should not go down that road. I don't see why he'd insist on that anyway if we make him one of our top earners.

If it was that simple we wouldn't have a problem.

£250m turnover allows us wages up to £125m on how we seem fit.
Our turnover is more likely closer to £300m this year too with the new TV deal, CL and FA cup.
i think it is that simple
we are very profitable, our average attendance will probably double next season
we need to pay players a lot closer to what they can get elsewhere
Really Kane and Alli should be looking at 150k
Rose, Hugo, Toby should be on at least 100k
