Yup, still gutted. Worst part is that it doesn't really feel like it happened. Friday night football sucks.

Every winning run is bound to end sometimes. It was typical "banana skin" game. I can't point out at any solid reason why but one fact. Friday. Players never play or train to play on Friday. But they have biological clock like every other man. There are some days when you can say "Everything falls from the hands" whatever you do. How often do you see the most reliableToby does stupid things? The whole team was f***ing lethargic. And usualy such drab games end with boring 0-0, but we gifted a goal to them, not that they really deserved to win. They came to defend. We came to win but could not deliver good performance.
Anyway I am proud of my Spurs and overall it was a great season. Believe in the future.

It does feel really shit this morning, I feel worse worse than I did after the Chelsea game because even after that we could just shit our focus to the league and the soon upcoming Palace game.

The feeling is also partly because quite frankly, we don't actually lose very much these days :D I'd rather feel extra shit after losing because it hardly happens than not so bad because we're used to it. Can't stress enough how good a place we are actually in dispite it not looking so last night! We could really use performances like yesterdays, away to City, United and Liverpool to learn from and put right next season. Just a shame we're at Wembley as that throws another spanner in the works.

Well that was a hard pill to swallow, i really dislike West Ham and they really aren't a very good team. We, however, made them look better than they are. They were completely there for the taking and unfortunately none of our players turned up.

I agree, thus far, it has been a fantastic season and i'm so proud of our team. BUT.... some things really got to me yesterday.

1. We looked a bit like Arsenal did against us, not really much passion, not much drive, not really much of an idea, like the players were playing together for the first time. It was really difficult to watch and some of our passing, well most of it was dreadful and timid. The pace of our play was slowest it's been all year.

2. Dropping the 3-4-3..... why? 3-4-3 has worked so much better for our team all season and i'm completely at a loss why he would set up like this and not even change it after half hour when we were clearly playing like absolute dog shit.

3. Wanyama and Dier the axis of evil, okay at home which is a fortress for us it might be acceptable to play these two and does work, but surely Poch has seen away from home this is a disaster and yesterday proved it. They are both holding players. If Dembele is on the bench he is clearly fit enough, so at least start him and bring him off if he can only play a half or 60 odd minutes. Especially against a team so deep he is our perfect player to create space, baffled by this.

4. The curse of the big pitch. As with Wembley we just don't look the same team on these size pitches. Two factors for me and it's been mentioned already, players like Winks and Dembele need to be in the CM dictating the play and have comfort to set up attacks and make certain passes rather than the old CB to CM back to CB and restart!!? And PACE, this is why City and Liverpool destroyed West Ham, they have players that can eat up the ground and stretch teams on these pitches. Zaha would definitely add this.

Not the greatest way to start the weekend, more disappointed by the way we lost yesterday and actually how easy we made it for them. Team looked a little lost yesterday, hope we can cement second place and at least finish the season in positive fashion. This summer is key for me, players like Naby Keita, Jean Seri in the CM postion would be excellent for us and PACE be in someone in the Zaha mould, these are the little tweaks we need to make to the team. Winks would have been great for this run in and for todays game. Such a shame for the lad.

great season but unfortunetly its another situation where the game is in our hands. win it and we are 1 point behind the leaders and we inevitably lose the game.

We've won 9 on the bounce to cut it down from 13 or 11 points to 4. That's extraordinary and asking this team to win 13 on the bounce where we are still 4 points behind was always going to be extremely difficult. No one would have thought at Christmas we would be where we are. The biggest gripe i have, is the nature of how we played tonight in a derby game. That's all for me.

We last won silverware in February of 2008 and the earliest we can do that now is March 2018. That really is shocking given the personnel we have had in that time, moreso when mediocre sides like United will most likely have 3 trophies in the last 2 seasons to their name.
Agree but I think this is the only season where we've been really good enough to win something.

If we keep doing what we are doing then we will get ourselves to these semi finals and finals. Eventually we will win something but of course the worry is losing this combination of players and manager.

Unbelievably I'm getting "bottled it" messages from Everton, Man Utd and Liverpool fans. Are these idiots for real? Can the modern football fan not understand reality anymore?

Funny how our worst performance since the Liverpool game came after a week where the speculation in the media about the future of a few of our players has reached fever pitch. In paticular Walker and Toby both of whom had there worst games in a while.

We have been good enough to with something since 2005. Wigan and Portsmouth have won FA Cups in that time, Swansea, Birmingham have won league cups, Sevilla has won 5 Europa leagues. No one is demanding league titles but the continued excuses with the cups simply do not wash. If we continue to do what we are doing we will continue to win nothing, that is the very issue here.

Are we back to blaming the media again? Costa and Hazard are being linked to moves away why isn't his effecting their results?

I can't wait for the United game to come sooner just to confirm our 2nd placing, maintain our unbeaten home league record this season, and shut up all those people who have been bad mouthing us over this one-in-ten game loss.

Sadly I do sort of get what they are on about because we do choke up on these type of occasions when a potential prize awaits us.
It's annoying because again we seem to be every club's laughing stock even though half those clubs would trade places with us anyday.

Feel down this morning after last night as our season is effectively over but we have many reasons to be positive and even the best teams have off days.
We all would have taken 2nd if offered at the start of the season.
Keep all our best players and upgrade on squad smartly and we will be in with a good shout of winning the league next season imo

Because their serial winners who know how to get shit done and across the line we don't is the answer your probably looking for.

Mate, I know I probably only speak for myself but give it a rest. Your narritive is the same after every game. Not today eh?

Or maybe start a thread and WUM in it to your hearts content.

He hates us - and I do mean I have seen him being interviewed and using the word hate in regard to us. But never allows it to get in the way of doing his job. He gives us credit when it is due and if he hears nonsense being spoken about us, he calls it as it is.

Agree. I hate his stupid smug face because he was so good and played for the enemy, but I think he's a good pundit.

By who? We had a bad October / November for points, and a couple of months ago were 13 points behind Chelsea, who have had no European games and no injuries. Yet tonight we could close to within 1 point. I think we have done very well, we have got CL two seasons on the trot, got more points than anyone over the last two seasons and have generally been regarded as the best team in that time. We also have the youngest team.

No-one in their right mind would regard that as a failure. That's not to say we aren't a bit disappointed not to have actually won a trophy or the title, but it's not the same thing as being a failure.
See what I mean about the media etc calling it a failure. So angry this morning.
