Told he's not overly happy playing a utility role, and thinks he needs to be playing CM/DM to get a regular International slot. The noises are not as loud as they are with Walker, but this is not just paper talk. Another one worth keeping half an eye on.

Surely he should appreciate that he's capable of playing in both CB & DM role and that Poch trusts him to do so.
With rumours circulating that United want Nainggolan, then Dier would only become a bit part player there if he moved anyway.
He needs to knuckle down, accept that competition is a good thing and fight for that DM spot.

There is a regular spot in England's centre half positions open for him. He needs to get his head out of the clouds and knuckle down and prove he is a good player.

If he played centre back for England, instead of midfield, he'd probably be our best centre back. Thats what he should think about.

Interesting. Unfortunately he simply isn't as good a CM/DM as either Dembele or Wanyama.

Interesting as well since in the past he's previously said playing a variety of roles has made him a better player and he enjoys it.

I don't think he's good enough to be demanding anything, as much as I love him.

Yeah I mean, how is his England place under threat? His utility role at Spurs means he virtually plays CB/DM anyway all the time. Sometimes he is more CB and other times he can move more into DM, other times he is even selected there (like against MU).

Southgate would be nuts to drop him just because he plays a variety of roles for Spurs.

He is the only player who could have a genuine sporting reason for leaving if he sees himself as a DM

So u think a wise approach is to try to get our wage bill closer to clubs with 2/3 x our revenue?
so you think its a wise approach to pay our top players 1/2 or a 1/3 of what they can get elsewhere and not expect problems?

He's being silly. Get a grip Dier. Look at this incredible team that you are a part of.

The problem is players have no patience these days. It's why, despite how good we are doing, winning trophies gives players who might be getting itchy feet about game time/being played out of position etc more of an incentive to stay.

Hopefully Dier realised that he was still get plenty of game time and that's all that's needed to be part of the England set up, where he will no doubt be used in his favourite position.

so then Levy should pay himself a good salary, bearing in mind that we are a work in progress, and once the stadium is finished and the wonga is rolling in then he can pay himself a kings ransom.... hang on he already pays himself the top salary of all the premiership clubs including those with much higher turnovers. i dont blame him getting his money as i think hes worth it, but "do as i say not as i do" would be the defence of the players agents...

just a thought

To be fair, Levy does a vast amount more for the club than any player to be frank.

Most of these guys owe a great deal to Pochettino, above all else. That's what is really vexing me.

Klopp talking up Dier now as well. I seriously hope our players aren't considering moving from this club, they would be idiotic. Liverpool and United aren't anything special, they are living on past glories.

Where would you rather be right now as a player? A team with limitless potential and a young squad and best manager in the league? Or teams with aging stars that will need a complete revamp in the coming seasons?

If money is all that matters to the players then they can go as far as I am concerned.

Dier needs to remember it was Poch who made him a defensive midfielder in the first place.

He'll also develop far better with us then at tha shitpile Man U at present as Mourinho isn't really all that interested in developing players, just winning no matter how ugly it's gotta be.
