How is Barkley easy when Everton want 50 million ? Fair value with only one year on his contract is around 15 million I would have thought. Unfortunately Everton don't seem to agree so if it is to be done it will likely be a last minute job.
1) What is fair value? Who determines fair value? Fair value is what a buyer is prepared to fork out. That's fair – to sell at the price somebody wants to give. You can't say fair value is 15 if you believe Levy thinks its fine with going to 20. Then 20 is the fair value, or closer to the mark anyway, because there is a buyer at that price tag. There has to be some idea of fair value even in today's sky high market or no one knows what any player is worth. If as I said fair value for Barkley is say 15 million Levy may be prepared to go to say 20 million to get the deal done but anything more than that and he will move on to other players. I accept my idea of fair value may be on the low side in the current market but every chairman except those with money trees will set limits to what they will spend on a particular player. In the case of Barkley I would guess if Everton insist on too high a price we will wait until next summer.
Oh and I will just add. He says there is no value left to be had in the Prem pretty much every average Joe has a £20 mil valuation on there heads now. The academy will become more important than ever in the coming seasons.
I really don't understand Barkley dragging on. Both Levy and Kenwright are experienced chairmen, can't they both get round the table and say that it suits neither for it to drag on. Everton want to free up the squad space and get the replacements in, and we want Barkley to have a proper Poch beasting in pre-season.Expected Barkley to drag on tbh. I think it might be a deadline day transfer, Levy will no doubt try to get them to cave by dragging things out. The ball is probably in our court with this one to be fair unless other teams become interested.
It will be good to get one of Lemar, Pereira, Sessegnon in before pre-season starts but I don't think we'll make any signings until the season starts personally. I certainly don't think Lemar will be in any rush to sign considering the amount of other offers he'll likely have.
If we were to sell Dier, we should be holding out for £50m. Therefore, in my opinion, if we were to talk numbers with Utd, we should probably throw out a figure of £70m to begin with.
What is so hard to understand when more clubs are in for him?I really don't understand Barkley dragging on. I'm sure Levy would get as good a result doing this as trying to wait until deadline day to squeeze them. Sissoko proved that it doesn't work anymore.
So potentially Barkley AND Lemar, that's interesting. Certainly improves the squad like we have been craving!
What's the deal with the RO these days? Are certain updates not welcome in there?
Apparently A&C has a life to live and SC isn't his reason d'etre. Thankfully he'll need to write a new page for his poo chronicles soon so I'm sure he'll find a gap in his scahedule.
Attacking Midfield - predominantly left wing. can play centrally or on the right alsoWhat is Lemar's position? I have v little knowledge of non PL players (or non-Spurs tbh).
Wasn't having a go, just didn't want to copy a load of stuff over into a thread in there if it wasn't the right thing to do.

From speaking to Everton fans I think Kenwright is less keen for him to go than Koeman. Could see Kenwright dragging his feet over it.I really don't understand Barkley dragging on. Nah, they're going on a massive spending spree, they've mentally got rid of Lukaku and Barkley and are backing Koeman to revamp the squad. From speaking to Everton fans I think Kenwright is less keen for him to go than Koeman. Could see Kenwright dragging his feet over it.
Whenever I have seen him play, he plays in the 3 behind the striker and is left footedWhat is Lemar's position? I have v little knowledge of non PL players (or non-Spurs tbh).

Do u know Kenwright personally then?Levy is convinced that waiting it out produces results, but I think with someone like Kenwright, sitting down, breaking bread, over a nice bottle of wine and getting real would produce a better deal for everyone.
No, but from what I've seen of him over the years in the media, and his relationships with his managers at Everton, he's a fairly straight talking guy, and appreciates it from those he deals with.Do u know Kenwright personally then?
