Have you learnt nothing from watching "the greatest team of any era" play in gen play in the last two, three years?

A lot of teams think they're close to the all blacks at half time, but to beat the all blacks you have to have a 20 point lead at half time because in the 2nd half they go from 2nd gear to 5th and they mow you down.
This guy.

We've barely seen Faletau with ball in hand at all. Not his fault but a sign of how dominant the ABs have been.

I hope we don't make mass changes next week. Itoje must start. Kruis has fantastic all tour but had a shocker today.

I think Garland got the selection right today but it wasn't enough.

Need to try something else in the second test but not sure what.

They are simply better all over the pitch.

We're not as far behind as some think, imho. There were some silly errors in both halves that we shouldn't be doing which then gave them a platform to get points. We can cut that shit out.

At 50 mins mark it was a real contest. NZ tightened up though, starved uss of ball and territory and got the job done.

Positives for the Lions are the lineout, and any errors or loose play they produced (couple of bad kicks from Cruden, a couple of knock on's too) we were able to launch some really good counter attacks and looked dangerous. However on the other hand I thought defence, especially linespeed, was patchy, and we needed to win the forward battle and so didn't really enjoy enough ball.

Individually I thought the whole pack were ok at best - some good work some bad and silly errors. Murray was solid, Farrell didn't have his best game, the backs went fairly well working mostly off counter attacking ball. Itoje was pretty good off the bench, Webb had one snipe right at the end and Sinckler one charge, but most of the bench didn't really up the intensity, if anything lost it a bit.

Definitely room for improvement, however I wouldn't say that was vintage NZ either tonight.

To be honest I think that's the closest the Lions will get, the AB's were rusty against Samoa and again in the first half. But having played another game together they'll be a lot better next week and the week on.

Don't think the All Blacks were anywhere near their best though.

Plus we've been making those errors all tour. Not sure when we'll cut them out.

Basically, the all blacks are sometimes just too good.

It kind of had that feeling at some points but the lions weren't ruthless enough and concentration levels dropped at times.

Next week? Kruis was poor tonight, I'd actually start Lawes and Itoje, with maybe Henderson on the bench. POM went well but perhaps Warbs comes in. SOB starts 100%
Mako was the best prop, but I do like him from the bench. McGrath added nothing when he came on and the scrum actually started going backwards too.
The back 3 was generally brilliant and so threatening. They stay 100%

I'd mix it up a bit

Vunipola
George
Furlong
Itoje
Lawes
SOB
Warburton
Falateu
Murray
Sexton
Daly
Farrell
Davies
Watson
Williams

Marler, Owens, Sinkler, Henderson, Tipuric, Webb, Biggar, Joseph.

Harsh on POM I know, who went well today but if he's not starting then no point being on the bench. Warbs and Tips adds to the breakdown obviously.

I think that makes sense.

AWJ and Kruis were dominated today.

I think it will be the same whoever plays though.

Itoje was good when he came on. Large grunts at lock won't disrupt the all blacks. Athleticism is the way IMO

Retallick gave a masterclass today
