Odd tweet....lol
It's a smart strategy. Buy them young and cheap, put them on loan and let them develop value before selling...
defoeon Danny Rose's birthday the other day, when Parker rejoined, the 1st anniv of signing Wanyama, the 28th anniv of signing Lineker, 2nd anniv of signing Trippier, 30yrs on from Clive Allen's big season. The difference is that Gylfi plays for Swansea now.. although Spurs did also wish Ryan Mason a happy birthday. There are probably more but I can't be bothered to keep scrolling down. The 'on this day' seems a standard filler post at the moment.
need a big pot of money to do this though....It's a smart strategy. Buy them young and cheap, put them on loan and let them develop value before selling...
i think they would want a lot more than 25m for himThey'd want £25m at least for him. I'd sooner us just offer £30m plus for Barkley if it's a choice between those two. He's around a similar level only 3/4 years younger.
Such a shambles under AVB, that we amassed 72 points, which is our 2nd highest points tally during premiership era..How much would be a reasonable price for him? I'd happily see him back in the squad, he would be raring to prove himself, we were a shambles style wise under AVB.

Yes. Nothing to see here, IMO.Have we done this for any other players from our recent past?
No, I thought our style of player to be turgid at best , but to suggest we were a shambles whilst amassing 72 points is bollocks.. Bale was exceptional, but no different to other one player team in recent times.. Sanchez has been carrying the Goons for the last two seasons.Lol stats again I see, did u enjoy our style of play? Basically give the ball to Bale.

Gylfi was misused so badly by both AVB & Sherwood.
I distinctly remember 4-0 thrashing to Liverpool, when he was made to play CM with Bentaleb, forwards- Chadli, Lennon, Soldado and back 4 had Kaboul & Nagughton. I mean come on....
Gylfi was sold just when Poch took over. Even Last season, Poch said that was a mistake. Infact Poch went on this monologue :
“I think after he moved to Swansea and we saw his development at Swansea, he was a perfect player for us, But it was a club decision and his decision to move to Swansea and find another way. Every time we meet him and see him, he shows his quality – not only as a player but like a man. All the people here talk very highly about him. It’s a shame but sometimes in football you never know what will happen. There are no regrets.
When we arrived at Tottenham we had 34 senior players and it was difficult to assess them all in the first few weeks, because we did not have enough time. The decision when we were in Seattle was for him to play the first friendly game. I remember he was in the starting XI to play that match and I had a call to say: ‘OK, the agreement is done with Swansea.’ When the club and player decide to move, there is nothing you can do about that.”
If there is a chance to buy him back, I will back it all the time. Looking at above reply from Poch, its not impossible if things come together.
