Will Edwards have to take a holiday after the Euro U19s and thus effectively miss all of our pre-season putting him behind the rest of the squad?
His close control and ability to turn on a sixpence would clearly be a valuable bench option for us in tight games, and it woiuld be a shame if England U19s' misuse of him (2 x sub appearances in 3 matches) sabotages his Spurs pre-season.
Thought Breezer said to the effect that all was good. I doubt that to be the case though-contract wise.kwp and onomah didn't last season, they basically finished the euros and flew out to australia straight after. that said, i still wouldn't expect edwards to join up with the first team while he's still in limbo with regards to his contract.
@Breezer said something like he will be with us for a year and then let's see + Edwards knows what he needs to do to move forward at the clubThought Breezer said to the effect that all was good. I doubt that to be the case though-contract wise.

Think they have though.I don't think Maddox has featured at all.
James not started a game either.I think he's picking very specific players for who they face.I think Czechs are quite big,so maybe gone to match them up.
any thoughts from folks about Jadon Sancho?
Tbh I don't see point of player not playing in final year it achieves nothing. The player just becomes bitter and resentful and more likely to leave .If a player really wants to run his contract down he will.May as well get the best you can out of him.
Crazy how a year or 2 ago noone would realistically have expected this age group to win a tournament. The only quality players from this age group were Oxford, Edwards, DaSilva and Willock. Now 2 aren't there and one isn't starting. They are still talented but have missed the tournament for different reasons.
Biggest change for me is Edun, I remember he was a LB and he looked really poor I think I remember him getting 2 red cards in 2 games or something, but he has reinvented himself. I imagine the development of Sessegnon helped him as he was forced to move position. This age group now has good depth, and when supplemented by the best 99s are looking very good. I commented previously that the 99s were one of the best age groups I've seen outside of 00s and 97s and half expected them to win the u17 Euros last season, so clever move by Downing to add the best of that age groups to the 98s. Should have probably taken Ugbo up top though.
If we win this year u19s Euros, I'd put money on us winning it next year too, as it could be a 99/00 joint age group. Frustrating with what happened with the u17s as it could have been a real outstanding summer, but they have the WC to correct it.
Nice group, all easy enough to travel to. Hopefully we get some fans at the games.EFL Trophy: Barnet, Luton and AFC Wimbledon in our group. Might go to the Wimbledon game as it's not far from me.
agree about edun, he's looking like kante-lite.
i'm not entirely sold on the influx of 99s into this group though. like mount for example, sure he's good enough to play in this team and is one of the better players but i think it's poor planning by the fa to call him up and effectively stifle edwards in the process when really there was no need. then again i don't see why they can't both play and i actually prefer marcus coming in off the right in this formation anyway.
