Fairly obvious it's not Barkley, JJ has been very open on that front. It's either the RB or the Italian link JJ has been referencing. Simeone timing would work but I doubt it's him. I would imagine press will be catching on in the next couple of days...

I too can't see how people think it is Barkley for these exact reasons.
More than that, why guess anyway? There is absolutely no info to go off of today in terms of zooming in on any one player.

The fact GF said that most would be happy suggests to me it's a well known player rather than a surprise (Simone etc).

Silence to help a selling club get a replacement more likely than silence to prevent a hijack? Agents and sellers usually like a bidding war so will spill the beans if they can provoke one?

It would be nice after all the 'SPURS HAVEN'T BOUGHT ANYONE' we signed someone which not only ended that, but also made a lot of people switch tune to 'OH SHIT! SPURS HAVE SIGNED XXXX', while Levy's middle fingers wave in all directions.

Haha yeah just reminds me of last week when we saw tripper signed a new contract, one of the itk (can't remember which) wrote something like "I'm feeling happy today" so I was expecting a signing announcement that day but it turned out to be Trippier which was slightly dissapponting although I was somewhat pleased because I do like Trippier

JJ's tweet said "More" and that was it. All we've had this summer are outgoings and contract extensions.

Grey Fox said most would be happy.

My money is this is Sissoko leaving. Another outgoing which most would be happy with.

I don't see why losing a player would make anyone happy, unless a better one was coming in.

I think at this stage of the market only a signing will really make anyone happy.
