There's no way you can defend him. Yes our squads thin. Yes we gave him stick but you were in the Adebayor Capoue Kaboul team Danny everyone got stick! Shit we put up with at the time rightly so! But you do not go out of your way to give an interview to that scum bag paper full stop!! But to go there and say your the things he did is unforgivable. If you say anything just memtion the transfers tge ignorance of the bloke thinking this is a good idea is beyond me! No matter how many of you try to defend him if you want more money or a transfer gi to the club hand transfer request in do NOT go to the sun!

He says it's not about the money doesnt' he, but then says....

'I know what I'm worth, and I will make sure I get what I'm worth'

I am not playing as well as I have done not to get paid what I think I am worth'

'I probably only have one big contract left in my career'

'I’m not going to be stupid enough not to try and get the most out of it — medals, trophies and salary'

'As with everyone else in my team, in my opinion, I am worth more than I am getting'

It's obviously 100% about the money. His agent has been in his ear since Walker got a transfer and a big juicy contract. Everything Rose says is justification for a higher wage. Either at a new club by wanting a move, or an improved deal at Spurs. The whole point of organising this interview.

It's unprofessional, the timing is terrible and it could have been said to the hierarchy in private.

You think it hasn't been. I'd say it's been said at least a dozen times by different players and rose is the only one with the balls to speak out.

This was inevitable.

I'm in two minds about this, on the one hand I'm a bit concerned that he's come out with this so close to the start of the season as it could upset the equilibrium of the team spirit, on the other hand, it could spell it it out to Levy that he is walking a tightrope when it comes to recruiting and keeping top players, Kane is probably the only player in the squad who will not agitate for a move should it become clear that this team is going to continually fall just short of glory on a regular basis, but the rest will, I'm sure, be off like a shot! Add to all that the possibility that Poch may get fed up with it eventually and you have the makings of the perfect shitstorm looming on the, hopefully, very distant horizon!

If we fail to deliver what Poch wants this window I wouldn't be surprised if PSG come in May to see if he wants to go there after Emery yet again failed to win the CL for them.

He's burned his bridges. No one crosses Poch.

I'd offer him to Utd and ask for Shaw and Martial in return and then go offer £15m to Fulham for Sessengnon.

Pretty sure united would say "oh yes please, we hear he is very loyal to you though so you better have some cash too".

2 days before the start of the season he comes out with this to The Sun? I don't care how "right" he is, keep it private. Prick.

I think you may well bring that laughter on yourself. You seem to be exaggerating: having "fear" about him leaving?? "the place falls to pieces"?? - neither are true statements. If he goes- you will be fine. There is nothing to fear. We can have a group hug if it makes you feel better. The place is not falling to pieces, people are just reacting (mostly in a calm manner) to a recent news story- that is all.
Always been a keen admirer of your relentless friendliness.

Standard Spurs Community having a massive tantrum. Give me strength.

First up, he's not being sold so all those crying into their cereal can chill out. JJ has stated on twitter that he's not going to go. More to the point, he's said himself that he's not asking to leave right now. He makes the point that he will go back up north at some point which is absolutely fine. It'll still be when we allow him to go.

The talk about what he's worth is a little bit salty which is the only bit I take issue with. He signed his recent new deal and was not forced to do so. I'm hoping those comments have been misinterpreted or he's not meant them how they sound. Either way, he's under contract so tough shit buddy.

Lastly, what he says about trophies is fair enough, can't blame him there. What he says about us signing new players, same, he's not wrong is he.

That's about it isn't it?

The interview isn't great. He should know better for sure, however, it's widely known that Danny is a man that speaks his mind. He always has. He doesn't care about upsetting anyone but that doesn't mean that he's going anywhere.

Not really sure how the club can respond to this without selling him, and without sending a message to the players that if they do this then they get what they want.

I don't argue with the points he makes at our lack of activity, the way the fans treated him etc.

But to actually go to the fucking Sun, sit down and give them all of this whilst compromising your team and team mates is really fucking unnecessary. Especially 3 days before the season starts.

I'd probably do what WBA did to Berahino, to send a message that this is not tolerated.

But we really do need to sign some fucking players for christ's sake. That much is clear.

So let me understand this.

Danny Rose has not played for six months, out injured. So teams are queuing up to pay £40million + for a crocked player and their finance departments and insurance companies are happy with this despite it being well know that players who rely on pace and athleticism often never come back properly from long injuries (see the left back Shaw at Man United for example).

I think there is some serious delusion here. Is this just a frustrated injured player, worried that he will not get back to his best in a team whose style requires ultra fitness levels, worried that he has lost his place in the first team, trying to sell himself? It all makes little sense

I don't think Pochettino will take issue with it. He has hinted at similar feelings himself, albeit very carefully and diplomatically.

It's a challenge to Levy more than anything, part of me wonders if it's not on behalf of the whole squad. Be interesting to see how he reacts.

I like Rose but he can't even play half of a season. Won't mind cash in him, but would prefer next season to keep stability

I actively want the "Super league" to happen - removing these unfathomably rich clubs from the domestic leagues would improve them no end.
The day the super league happens is the day I stop watching football. Teams from domestic leagues would start to go under as all the money (and therefore top players) would be going to the super league instead.

If it's true that the quotes used in the article are a misrepresentation of the interview, Rose needs to come out today and set the record straight.

I can't believe how many fans are ok with what he said. As Gary Neville said about the subject after saying what Rose said about the other teams and our squad "Imagine walking into the training ground having not been fit for months and months . Morning lads!!"

I am not given to having a go at players and when Danny Rose was having a poor time for us I supported him 100% but he has behaved terribly here. He's paid (under his new contract that he happily signed a year ago) to train and play. The club and the manager make the decisions about who we buy and how we run the club. Poch is all about the collective and Rose is thick if he thinks Poch will tolerate this. Going to 'the sun' - fuck me, how stupid can you get? If he has a problem he goes to his manager.

Season starts in three days and he does this interview veiled with 'I say it like it is' shit. That's like those people that self proclaim 'I call a spade a spade' - no, you don't - you're mostly just rude, negative and unprofessional with no regard for the people on the other end of your comments.

Poch should have a serious talk to the kid and if he can't see he shouldn't have done this then we get rid, get as much money as possible and bring in Luke Shaw.

By the way Danny I had to google you when you signed and got a Woody Allen movie as the first 20 hits!

Very disappointing to hear this so close to the start of the season. He's eother incredibly stupid and thinks this will get him a better deal with us, as he knows we're not in a position where we want to sell any more first team players, or he's purposefully orchestrating a move by coming out with this shit before the window shuts. Very fucking stupid.

Just saw a few tweets from Gary Neville having a go at the way he's done it. He's right, wanting out isn't an issue, you can't force people to stay of they want to move on, but have some bloody respect and not do it like that. I think he's off. Can't see Poch being too happy about this.
