I gave you a 'winner' rating for the above, but I have to say I disagree with the last paragraph, I believe a European super league would destroy league football in most European countries and ruin it in the best supported leagues simply because in the eyes of the media, football outside of the super league would cease to exist, but that's for another time.

Agree it would destroy the league as we know it.

Standard Spurs Community having a massive tantrum. Give me strength.

First up, he's not being sold so all those crying into their cereal can chill out. JJ has stated on twitter that he's not going to go. More to the point, he's said himself that he's not asking to leave right now. He makes the point that he will go back up north at some point which is absolutely fine. It'll still be when we allow him to go.

The talk about what he's worth is a little bit salty which is the only bit I take issue with. He signed his recent new deal and was not forced to do so. I'm hoping those comments have been misinterpreted or he's not meant them how they sound. Either way, he's under contract so tough shit buddy.

Lastly, what he says about trophies is fair enough, can't blame him there. What he says about us signing new players, same, he's not wrong is he.

That's about it isn't it?

The interview isn't great. He should know better for sure, however, it's widely known that Danny is a man that speaks his mind. He always has. He doesn't care about upsetting anyone but that doesn't mean that he's going anywhere.

He can't say he wants to leave though can he? That probably amounts to a transfer request. You can bet his agent has told him that.

His agent has been desperate to move him on all summer, itk has told us that. These are Rose's words but you can bet his agent has stirred and wound him up to get to this point.

You think it hasn't been. I'd say it's been said at least a dozen times by different players and rose is the only one with the balls to speak out.

This was inevitable.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rose asked for a pay rise privately already. If it has been refused, then it is unprofessional to make demands via the Sun.

Likewise, if it was REALLY about signing new players, Poch has confirmed yesterday that he wants 3 or 4. Again, concerns Rose could raise privately.

As always, the answer is £££££££££. Rose is happy to squeeze it from us, or a new club. His method of negotiation is unacceptable in my opinion.

We all knew this was coming after selling Walker to Man C. Not only has that sale weakened us, but when Walker calls his mates back at Spurs and let's them know how much he is on, they're going to want a slice of that pie. As much as we hate it as fans. We must accept that we need to pay players more or accept they will leave when a better offer comes along.

This is purely about money and nothing else.

Some valid points.... Yes he could have spoken about the money in private.... But perhaps he has done that.

It's no coincidence about the timing of the Man Utd links in the press this week either. Unfortunately the club should have forseen selling a player to a rival to strengthen them would lead to this. Big own goal by the club.....

Go back to his interview earlier this year where he said we cant be a nearly club to see that he wants more than just nearly winning a title.

I have no qualms with his stance here. Top players must be played market related salaries.

Just watch.... Dele/Dier/Eriksen are next at the end of the season.

All the players sales money should have been reinvested months ago... Not waiting for the season to start and shop in the bargain basket.

Been saying this for weeks but good luck trying to convince the fans who seem more impressed (see brainwashed) with us saving money compared to actually, you know, trying to win something and understanding that players don't give a shit about a football stadium.

Harry Kane is a rare example of a footballer and he is a spurs fan, stop expecting every player to show that loyalty, it won't happen and frankly, if we start selling players you better expect Kane to start looking elsewhere as well, as much as he loves spurs he will want to win things, I don't blame him.

We should never have sold Walker and especially not to a rival, we just look weak and it has sent a signal out to the players and the league that we can't be taken seriously, especially considering that we are, yet again, going into the season with zero signings or having made any attempts to strengthen our depth.

It's a joke, we sell our first team RB and our most senior player and don't even replace him before we start the season with a backup option or strengthen anywhere else, despite our manager practically begging for it at this point.

It's Levy, it's always been Levy and it always will be and if we fail to win anything with this talented side before they get sold and our manager inevitability leaves because of lack of backing then it will be one of the biggest failures this league has known, irrespective of the stadium or what Levy thinks is best for the club, we can't afford to let that happen.

So TLDR, Rose is right and some people need to wake up.

He shouldn't have come out and said that publicly, especially having not kicked a ball in months. It really disappoints me that he has done this and I can't imagine it will impress the mangaer

However...

What he's saying is pretty true and the worrying thing is, that he may be the only one coming out and saying it, but he won't be the only one In our squad thinking it.

Can't imagine this has gone down very well at the club. We're not a financially doped club or run in an irresponsible manner like many other clubs but Rose seems to have identified this as a problem. It is however high time that we put a trophy in the cabinet.

But why has he come out with all this now?

Starting to think the sale of Walker and no signings was the tipping point.

That will be the excuses, but it's all about how much money he gets.
He's seen Walker go and double/treble his wages and he wants a piece.
Majority of players only care about how much they earn.

I can't see how the interview and quotes are mis represented, he did say those things.

Why don't we tell our players to boycott the Shite? The only area of humanity where Scousers have more sense than the rest of us.

Must admit i didn't see this part in The Sun, perhaps gives him a few brownie point's :

England star Danny Rose is backing Tottenham Hotspur to sign wantaway Everton midfielder Ross Barkley because he has the pedigree to succeed at the The Lilywhites.

Barkley has been linked with an exit from the Toffees throughout this summer after refusing to sign a new long-term deal, and Spurs face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea for his signature.

''But hearing Ross might be available, well, I have played with and against Ross and bringing him through the door, in itself, would be a huge boost,'' Danny Rose told The Sun.

''I’m a huge fan. In terms of physical stature, right and left foot and trying to get him off the ball, he’s like Mousa Dembele.

''If Ross wants to push on to the next level, Mauricio Pochettino is the best manager to do that — just look how many players he has got into the England squad.''

No one will pay him double/treble until he has proved his fitness and return to form.

I can't see how the interview and quotes are mis represented, he dis said those things.
I agree, but probably he also said a broader scope of things that maybe paints a fuller and more detailed picture. Then the journo boiled it down to print the most sensationalist stuff, not the full picture of Danny Rose's diaries.

I loved the googling comment though. There was a time when even Spurs fans had to google Danny Rose. Or Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama, all these players were "googling"-quality players.

Massively disappointed in Rose. He may be right with some of what he's said but has massively destabilised the club days before the new season. Levy should phone Mourinho and tell him that he can have Rose for Shaw plus an extra £30M (valuing Rose at ~£50M). Poch can get him back on track and we'd then be able to afford Barkley and Van Dijk (who could play in between Tony and Jan and make us even more formidable at the back).
