I'm really torn with this one.

His comments, the timing of it, the damage that it will cause within the squad, he and his agent should be ashamed.

But then, there are elements of what he said that cannot be denied. Daniel Levy is playing a very very dangerous game at the moment. Spurs are at a critical point, and I'm not sure Levy gives two fucks about the clubs on-field success so long as ENICs investment is plumped for market.

Levy out

Disappointing the club have made no comment today but unsurprising given the clusterfuck of a summer we've had all round! The silence doesn't sound like we're going to be taking a stance against poor little Danny,
Let's just wait and see. The club can't really offer a statement on something like that. The best statement would be a win at the weekend followed by 3-4 excellent signings

It's not about just proving a point to Danny Rose, it's making a point to ANYONE who thinks this sort of method, or tactic, angling for a move will be tolerated.

If Poch wants him gone, then remove him from the first team completely and sell him in the next window.

We must not sell him this window under any circumstances.

This is exactly right. We can't say to our players that they can run to the press and engineer a move. It would set a terrible precedent

Whilst I understand what you're saying Pinky I agree with Luka VDB. I think if you cross Poch you are gone. If they are able to have a conversation and resolve matters to some extent then fine but if Rose persists with this petulant 'I'm telling it like it is' attitude then he'll be out.

Like I said, no point discussing the pros and cons. Pochettino doesn't feel that way.

Eh, others can discuss it, just because you don't agree doesn't prevent others from doing so.

And you don't know for sure what Pochettino feels, and how much weight Levys contribution will carry given the nature of what Rose has done.

This extends beyond a simple playing decision on a player, there could be serious implications for the Club if not handled well.

I'd be very surprised if this was only down to Pochettino with no influence from Levy, very.

A lot different than the Walker scenario I'd imagine.

DL is a Spurs fan and has vastly improved the club's situation during his tenure. I 100% believe he wants the club to be successful just like the rest of us. Sure, he can be annoying with his method of doing deals and appear to be far too tight with the purse strings but on balance he's done a fantastic job.

How many of those that criticise him daily would have the first clue how to run a multi-million pound business with competing priorities that most of us can't imagine.

Do people really believe all he cares about is money?

He has done an incredible job for ENIC. Cannot deny that

He might well be sold this summer, but I think this is somewhat different, and would fully expect Levy to be thinking about the wider implications for the Club if not handled correctly, something which would be beyond Pochettino's remit.

If we sold Rose next week, would anyone honestly be surprised if another one of our first team players tried the same before the window shuts?

No I think would be the answer. And thats why Levy has to.put a marker down immediately.

Comments from David Pleat on 5 Live today, and he obviously knows what's going on at the club; the underlying tone was unmistakably critical of Rose:

- teammates with not be enamoured with the comments.

- Rose was no more influential over the last two seasons than any of the other 11.

- convo should be had internally, but sometimes these things are agent inspired.

- Rose is not the only left back in the world, and not the only English left back. Reeled off Bertrand, Shaw, Gibbs, Creswell, etc.

- Rose was very good in the system that Poch implemented, which allowed him to flourish.

- Spurs will sign up to three players this window.

- I'd be very confident if I was a Spurs fan.

- Some players might feel intimidated by our first 11 and worry they might not play. E.g. Harry McGuire.

I disagree. I think Levy cares very much about the success of the club. Yes, he cares about the financial aspects also, and sometimes I think that blinds him to the short-term needs of the club - but he was a supporter before he was a chairman.

I never said I didn't agree. I'm slightly uncomfortable with this practise for exactly the reasons you've stated. Personally don't like the fact a player can kick up a fuss and just be granted their move. But I'd strongly advise against getting your hopes up that we'll force Rose to stay against his wishes - either Rose and Poch have a long discussion and mutually agree on a solution, or Rose is out. It's just the way we do things.

I agree, although we did force Modric into one more season.

Trick is if we are going to sell, do it last minute and demand Shaw in the deal or no dice. Only way I'll begrudgingly accept it. Preference is to park him in the gym until 1st Sept and let him grovel for forgiveness in a WC year...

I don't know, I think they could quite easily come out say he didn't have permission for the interview, will be disciplined and won't be sold.

What a daft comment some people are blinkered and can't see the difference between the club pre ENIC and now. Of course we are in a terrible state with poor training facilities, a stadium that has fallen down and a team that is constantly struggling in the Premiership!!! I am54 and these are the most amazing times I have known as a lifelong fan, well done DL and JL

The majority of fans will have turned on Rose for this...he is going to get a frosty reception IF he ever plays for us again....think Ghaly only worse.
