Thanks. This has really helped me through this tricky period. When the news broke about The Sun's exclusive deep down I was like "Everlasting Seconds warned you about this way back in June, Stoof", and I immediately felt calmer.

Cheers man.
I'm going to take this as friendly banter from one of the guys.
Even if I fully know that you are trying to insult me.

Everyone deserve a second chance. We all have made mistakes before and long to be forgiven.
Only those with perfect records in their lives can blatantly refuse to accept Rose apology.

How is a shitty little statement from his agency tackling it head on?

Wow so much hate. Danny Rose doesn't have Twitter which would be the way it would come direct from him. We need to be realistic. In the grand scheme of things this statement is fine - it doesn't need a video message to fans for example.

And to be honest if he really has apologised to all concerned, what's the problem?

The problem is that he came out a few days before the season and completely destabilised and embarrassed the club in order to try and engineer a move and then suddenly u-turned 24 hours later and 'realised' maybe it wasn't the best idea.

Maybe should've thought about that before?

He's not sorry about what he did, he's sorry that he came out of it looking like a prick and was universally critisised(which we know little Danny can't handle)

If he doesn't leave though I will try to forget and support him because long term anger doesn't help I admit, just wish he hadn't done it

I don't see how being smart and being a dick are mutually exclusive?

I find the former helps greatly with the latter.

It's all love. And poo.

So, if it was Roses's intention to force a move why did he think that someone would pay the £60-70m that Spurs would have surely demanded for a player that has been injured for the last 7 months.
All he has done is to have backed himself into a corner, he now has to regain the confidence and trust of the manager, players and supporters and get back into the 1st team to make sure he is in England's plans for next summer.
He has got it all to prove, the ball is in his court.
Gotta say that Pochettino has been superb in his handling of this. it would of been easy to criticise and admonish Rose publicly but he has left the door open for him to escape the stupid situation he has put himself in. Not many managers would have done that.

What happens next will determine how we view Rose. If he knuckles down, shuts up and concentrates on playing for us we can view all this as an unfortunate error of judgment. However, if the speculation is hyped up, the transfer request goes in and he moves on then will know this is all part of a preconceived plan. Sadly I suspect the latter but I am a bit of a glass half empty type of person.

Well after this fiasco if anybody had any doubts about the integrity, honesty, man management and communication skills of MoPo then they should go do one. Its so refreshing after our 'Arry!

I think Poch might be right. He a hasn't kicked a ball in months and he's had no outlet for his energy and emotions, and exploded with this. He probably isn't the smartest guy in the world and just talks without engaging his brain. Also as a footballer he's likely completely self obsessed with no real awareness or consideration of how his actions affect other people.

Personally I'm happy for players to say what they are thinking. Most fans I think agree with what he said pay our good players in line with other clubs and bring in quality players not risky unknowns

I fucking love Poch.

When asked "what three folks would you want to sit down and have dinner with?" I always responded "Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, and Bill Murray" But now that one funny man has left us, I would have Poch there. The way he carries himself is world class.

Do you also agree with saying it two days before the season starts ?

That might explain it if he had a microphone shoved in his face, but by all accounts this was an orchestrated interview. He's clearly thought about it in advance and decided it was a good idea.

Even putting aside the fact that he signed a new 5 year contract in September, a contract worth nearly £17,000,000 and of which he has spent a good part injured, Rose's handling of the situation has been grubby in the extreme. Crying off to The Sun on the eve of the season? I half expected to read that he had almost crashed his car when he realised what a desultory wage £65,000 a week is. To be fair, the whole sad affair was no doubt stage managed by his agents, and no doubt he'll ultimately end up getting what he wants, but my oh my, talk about lack of class.

I might have completely imagined this but wasn't there reports/ITK a while back that Danny may suffer from mood swings?

I would be more annoyed if Rose was actually healthy and been playing for the good run last season.

He wasn't, and honestly.... if we get a good offer, we should take it.

My only gripe is that we are never in a hurry to look at replacements.
