guessing tob and georgiou are in contention for the last bench place against newcastle then.

also you'd think amos and harrison are close to loan moves, unless they're injured.

Thought Onomah did ok the other night, solid in cm and also produced the best moment of the game with his shimmy and through ball.

This is the thing with loans like this. If you are a striker or goal scoring midfielder, you can play shit and score and still get rave reviews (like Alli the few times i saw him for MK - when I questioned how he could possibly play in our CM2) or if you're a ball breaking busy **** flying around breaking ankles, again you get noticed. But a player like Onomah will really come into his own with clever/decent players around him, because he provides composure and tempo, things harder to shine at shit-kick level.

Defensively I thought he needed to show a little more urgency at times, but overall it was a good performance, marred a little by the quantity of mindless huff and puff and lack of intelligent movement around him. There were times he took up position and was ignored for an aimless hoof, or he was in possession, looking for some movement and nobody moved and all he was left with was a simple ball.

Sky saying Spurs in talks with Pape Cheikh Diop of Celta Vigo. 20yo Cm who's made 14 appearances.

Onomah might as well move to Birmingham if true.

By all accounts Diop is an outstanding talent too though. We've got to get these guys before they break through. If Josh is good enough he'll make it here.

Strange U23 Premier League match! Sunderland are playing Robbin Ruiter (GK) 30 year old Dutch player, Bryan Oveido (27) ex Everton, Papiss Djilobodji (28) £8.3m CB and ex England player Jack Rodwell (26)! Maybe its because they are aiming to win the U23 league as opposed to the Championship?

Think they're trying to get rid of some big wages by putting them in the stiffs.

It's all over, score 1-2. On a positive note Spurs Youth played in the main a vastly more experienced side so hopefully they learn from it. Reports suggest they competed well.

How exactly does a kid get from our U21's, one of the most promising U20 players in the country to "make it here" without ever getting a chance to play here. Even if he has a cracking season with Villa (like Pritchard did before we signed Njie) if we are paying money for 20yo's to fill our squad, even a good loan season won't do it.

There's no "by all accounts" with Onomah, he is promising. No matter how good Diop turns out to be (and I have no idea) you're not telling me 14 games for Celta Vigo makes him a load more viable than our own very promising, U20 World Cup winner? He might turn out to be the next Viera, but you don't know that, and I doubt anyone does.

i think ccv will be looking for a loan too if we end up bringing in davinson sanchez.

It depends, if this Sanchez chap comes in we may well see Wimmer depart. I doubt we'd let CCV leave on loan & leave ourselves with 3 central defenders. I think its unlikely that Wimmer would be too chuffed if we brought in Sanchez and then didn't let him leave.

alderweireld
vertonghen
dier
sanchez

i think is enough and it would take three of them being injured for ccv to get a game.
