Anyway if Benitez is gonna complain about tackles, Richie's on Alli could also have ended up worse.

Look I'm not going to bother arguing this because it's a Spurs forum after all, I am just saying that I know if that had been the other way around, and it's Kane limping off after that tackle, the comments wouldn't be along the lines of 'clumsy', 'honest attempt for the ball', 'just a yellow' etc. etc.....

That's exactly it though. It looked a lot worse because the lad had to go off afterwards. If Alli had twisted something being chopped down by Ritchie I'm sure we'd all be banging on about that but we're not.

It was a foul, and a yellow at a push. No more.

Poch just explained that he told me Kyle Walker-Peters wasn't ready last Saturday because he didn't want to put too much pressure on him.

Also said he'd already decided at that point that he was 99% sure that Walker-Peters would start at Newcastle. Fair enough.

Maybe it explains why we are now trying to sign a centre back rather than a right back

Considering Trippiers only gonna be out for a few weeks and KWPs pretty damn impressive debut, I don't think there's any chance or need for a RB now, if Trips was out long term then it would be a necessity.

There are no necessities in our squad. If it was an upgrade on trips for a decent price i'd go for it. We should always look to improve. Just don't think that buying players automatcally increases the strength of your squad.

I said midweek it was a ruse by Poch and that he'd play him. It just seemed like the thing he'd do to help the player out.

If there was one thing that really impressed me today it was Dele Alli's reaction to the Shelvey foul. It showed how much he has matured since those petulant early days and I now feel assured that we will see no unnecessary retaliation should a similar incident occur. This link confirms his desire to no longer allow himself to get wound up but to do his talking on the pitch instead.

It augurs well for the season ahead....COYS !

The thing that pleased me most today was keeping a clean sheet after selling Walker and losing Trippier and Rose to injury, it sent out a message that we can still be solid without them. Even sweeter considering Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all conceded three each :D

only if we kick the ball un the opponents goal more than they kick the ball into our goal!

And also not kicking the ball into our own goal, that wins games as well. Scoring goals wins games, and what do games win..... Games. That's what.

So you want us to have 3 RBs in our squad?

I want us to put as little pressure on KWP as possible and I think it's unfair to have to rely on him if Trippier is out for an extended period of time considering how many competitions we are in.

KWP played well today and he was my MOTM but we are getting a little overexcited, I just want us to be prepared for the worst.

Thought it was interesting that listening to various Post Match Interviews, Poch mentions in every one that the pitch was really dry and this caused us problems and that we were not able to move the ball around as quickly as we would like.

Both Dier and Toby are experienced at playing right back. Bring in Sanchez and we have options. I'm not worried about it.

But if we buy another right back how often is KWP realistically gonna play?..he's obviously backup to Trippier ATM, don't think that's going to help him progress personally.
