The article above basically says that he can't physically enter England yet but that the situation should be resolved Monday. The documents between the two teams and the player and Tottenham are signed and sealed it is up to the judicial authorities in France to provide documentation to the Home Office that settles his case in a way that is satisfactory for a work visa in the UK.

There is an updated version saying Tuesday now. No visa granted yet. No guarantees that he'll be granted one as he is still appealing his 2 month sentence.

And that this has been dragging on for 10 days...

Doesn't say he is still appealing his sentence, it says he is awaiting the decision on his visa application as documents show his appeal has been successful.

Well thats more positive.

Looks like the only step left in this transfer is Levy changing the payment terms as the pen is an inch away from the page

So strange. How is it possible that the conclusion of his legal proceedings coincide with the end of the transfer window almost exactly? What are the odds on that? It's almost like somebody is scripting this somewhere. Only happens to us too.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Or do we just not tend to take much notice about what happens at other clubs?

It may drag longer than the window is open in which case could we sign him on loan for a year or 6 months on condition he gets clearance ? I would be thinking of alternative scenarios cos we need this fella more than any other position in my opinion!

If the legal side is done in France, the WP here should be a formality. Multiple non-EU players have been signed right at the close of previous windows pending WP. Given we have allegedly already applied, I'd assume it'll be done and through before the window closes.

What's negative in this article. We will know tomorrow if there would be a decision or not. Most likely there would be a good decision. Even if is negative, it gives us 2 days to get a alternative in...

Given there is a definite timeline here, I can only see this as a positive.

His appeal was successful, all the legal documents are in place and he is an Ivory coast international so there is absolutely no reason for a work permit not to be granted, it's guaranteed just as Sanchez was.
Anyone know anything I don't?

But this penny pinching you speak of may result in another player purchase or improved contracts for our important players that may otherwise not of been possible.

Shouldnt have realeased walker so early then.wasn't like it was a shock we wasnt aware off.just penny pinching and bad planning.
What are you talking about? If you're going to criticise Levy, try and ensure it makes sense.

I have no idea where 'penny pinching' comes into this.
