We have edwards.
As much as I trust all the knowledgable ladies and gents in the Spurs Youth thread who reliably inform us that Edwards has the potential to be the mutt's nuts, IMO there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that he will be coming off the bench for us in any of our CL fixtures this season unless the game is already long gone (for or against us).

I think we definitely have a need for an additional quality attacking midfield-cum-forward in our squad, and I'd love us to get one tonight. (But I'm convinced we won't at this point.)

I seem to be missing something we can only have a maximum of 17 non home grown players. The current OS has 17 players before Llorente & Gomez which means at least tow must go or will not be eligible to play (very expensive). It also means we will only have 24 players excluding under 21 home grown players. The failure to sell or loan two or more international players is probably the reason no further transfers have been announced.

Liverpool play counter attack and rely on pace over the top. We play with build up and therefore have no room to run into. What we need is players who have fast feet and skill and can beat a player from a standing start much like Dembele, Barkley or a modric type.

And when that's not working? What, Sissoko?

Also, Liverpool are shaky at the back. They still have to stop the opposition from scoring goals to ensure theirs actually counts.

Pace surely helps beating players standing start or not.

Our counter attack is moving the ball quickly oh i give up

Exactly, we move the ball quickly not the legs. As an old sage once said, "Let the ball do the work".

We haven't been moving the ball fast so far this season though

We needed a RB and we got one................couple of days ago some on this site was crying out saying we're not filling the positions needed. We've actually signed a RB but still some are crying.........

We finished in 2nd place with this squad and by all accounts it sounds like Aurier might well prove to be a better RB than Walker and Llorente a better back up than Vinny

How can this window not be considered a success???

The fact that we've kept all of our best player (minus Walker but replaced him with a potential better player) in my opinion is a fantastic window (y)

Completely agree. I always felt that objective 1 was to keep this amazingly talented young squad - which we did. I expect them to get better again this season.

Finding players to rival the first team was always going to be hard and would have cost us too much with the new stadium. The tactic has clearly been to look at promising youth and potentially pick up good older players on contracts which are running down.

I'm very happy with the window.

Reckon it's going to be just Llorente now. We have a habit of holding off on announcements to give them that last minute feel, even when everyone knows they're complete
