Problem was that they were directing people wrong. We wanted London Midland, but they made us go with Overground/Underground queue which was fine when we go there.
However, we were then told no London Midland through that entrance, so had to go along platform and out other side. We then went to London Midland bit, to be told no train for an hour and to go and get Overground to Harrow/Watford.
So having had an easy queue at first we were now stuck in a massive one the second time around.
What should have taken us an hour to get home, as it was for Monaco game, ended up at over 2 hours because staff at station were useless.
When I got there there was a megaphone man directing either to London Midland or Bakerloo/overground . I wanted overground and joined that queue, there didn't seem to be any north/south platform separation, maybe there should be as the platform going to Watford was nearly empty.

No getting away from it, travel is a nightmare from there, but another thing that occurred to me yesterday is what a total shit tip the whole area is. There seems to be no real planning, and any spare site seems to give rise to another soulless chain hotel built straight upwards - its a real eyesore. All the building designs seem to clash with each other.
At least Tottenham still has some of the old architecture and soul left to it.
Can't wait to get this season out of the way to be honest and get back home!...:(

Getting the train as opposed to driving was ok but the tube back to Liverpool st was horrible.

There's no Greater Anglia this coming weekend (I don't count a bus from Ingatestone to Newbury Park thanks) - so we're gonna drive to Swiss Cottage and get the jubilee from there

Stonebridge Park station is about a thirty minute walk but there's no crowds whatsoever there. Get on there and go south to London or north to Harrow or Watford and avoid the crowds at Wembley Central.

Had a little chuckle about the fact he kept saying "Underground, Overground...". I thought the next bit was "wombling free" though, not "this way".

If you are in the south side of the ground, Wembley Stadium is different class.

I get a cab from Marylybone to Bond Street. Home to Chigwell in an hour total.

My mate caught the train just behind mine, and they were only 6 minutes apart.

I said that to my lad as we went past, but he's only 11 so he didn't get it...

last year after the Monaco game I didn't get home (Waltham Cross) until midnight-ish, as the queues at WC were ridiculous, and then having to wait for a train to Euston also took an eternity. this time round I decided to drive to Watford Junction and get the train from there. on the way back, the queues at WC were nowhere near as bad and I waited about 8 mins for a Watford train. reckon I got home about 1h20m after the final whistle without necessarily rushing. this will definitely be my route from now.

I used Wembley Park for the Champions league games.
Monaco - horrendous
Other 2, left 5 minutes early, piss easy. Light jog past the crowds and no queue whatsoever.

For the semi final I used Wembley Stadium. A Stuck in queues with mostly Chavski fans for an eternity.

Sunday, I used Wembley Stadium again and I'd say it took me roughly 30 minutes of well organised queuing to get on a train back to Marylebone. The woman on the tannoy was regularly pointing people to the correct queue listing all stations when I got there before kick off so we knew where to go at full time.
She said there were trains every 10 minutes but I suspect they were actually more frequent.

I may try Wembley Central in the future as it cuts out a hangover for me, I can go all the way to Oxford Circus and switch for the Victoria line back to Victoria. But it's 28 minutes apparently, plus the additional walk. Not sure it would save me time, but may mean I'm walking rather than stood in a queue.

I always walked to Seven Sisters as I'd rather walk for 30 minutes than queue for 30 minutes.

^It's a shorter walk than 7 Sisters I reckon, irrespective of where you sit.

I managed to come out of the same door as I entered at the 5th time of asking on Sunday. Entrance K which is not that bad for getting to Wembley Stadium station.
Do I need to keep to the right and walk past that one?

I have the same issue for Burnley. I need to be at Paddington for 19.00 so was thinking of leaving on 85 mins and heading to Wembley Stadium station and change at Marylebone. Then I hear that the interchange at Marylebone was manic, so now thinking of walking to Wembley Central and bakerloo line all the way through....

How about walking to North Wembley and getting on the overground/tube the stop before Wembley Central if your heading to Wilsden Green/Euston etc??

Pretty long walk, about 30 minutes .
Don't think there's any really quick, easy route for 70000+ people

Got tickets to the Dortmund game, consensus...

  • Walk around Olympic way (could someone clue me in the best route of this!)
OR
  • Brave Central
I'd like to stay till the end for once at Wembley!

I'm going south to Catford, so Bakerloo is fine for me..
