Fair points, But as I said or implied I think we switched off too early, which could have hurt us had we been playing a better team. They say winning is a habit, so is how we perform as well.
This is what you do after being on the road in Europe midweek. Win the game in half an hour and cruise. It's what Fergie and Jose teams did for years.

Saying we'd be trounced playing like that, that's what. No problem with expecting even more, I did too after that first half, but it's lunacy to think anybody would 'trounce' us playing like that.
I was basing the second half performance on the trouncing NOT the whole match. I think you and everyone else misinterpreted my post, based on the negative ratings given to me.

Just saw Dele won the ball to start the break for the final goal.
I don't think Dele was that terrible.

Showed some very good technique with a few clever passes and unlucky with a shot off the post.
Poor in 2nd along with the rest.

Super Embarrassing dive though

Happy for sissoko and the fans gave him some love too. Stretched them twice with his pace and probably should've scored 2

Davies 100 percent Welsh silk

Dele also won the ball that started the breakaway for the final goal. Still working hard defensively in the 90th minute.

He's not in form but the vitriol heaped upon him is way out out of control. Like with Sissoko. Imagine if Poch acted like some on here - half our team would be sold to Burton Albion...

We weren’t playing a better team. If we were we did well to go 3-0 up!

So you think we would've played so slowly in the second half if the game was still in the balance?
We played that way because we could afford to buddy.

I thoroughly enjoyed that, a very balanced performance, ruthless where necessary, solid where necessary, some lovely football at times and all very measured. Huddersfield have shown this season that they are no mugs, and they started brightly, but we kept our heads, took our moments and dismantled them.

Lloris was good, made the saves you'd expect, was good off his line, no stupid distribution.

Alderweireld, as others have mentioned, made the odd mistake and lacked his old concentration at times but was generally solid and read things well.

Sanchez underhit the odd clearance, was a touch rash occasionally (could have conceded a penalty on another day) but on the whole used his pace and strength well. Very composed against a quite brutish forward too in Delpoitre.

Trippier played his best game this season, looked quicker, passed well, crossed well, linked up with both defence and attack well.

Dier looked good today, dropped back as ever with good effect but didn't do it by default and stayed higher up the pitch, meant we transitioned far better and he even hit the odd clever pass forward.

Winks was very good, so quick to use the ball and not afraid to get it wrong. A couple of silly moments but no more than anyone else and we definitely benefitted from his quicker thinking. Needs to use this as a catalyst to become first choice.

Davies was exceptional, great passing, imaginative, knew when to attack and did it well. A year ago he's never in that position to score. My MOTM.

Dele had a better first half, far more nimble and intelligent on the ball than he has been, used the space gifted to him well. Second half he was not great on the ball, but off the ball he worked himself hard, helped the defence constantly and on a number of occasions took pressure off the defence. It was exactly this which started the move for Sissoko's goal. Harshly booked, he got up straight away and never claimed the penalty.

Eriksen was as ever involved in most of our play, some great passes and knitted our attack together. Good understanding with Winks too.

Kane was Kane. Worked hard at the front, good pressing, occasionally selfish, odd sublime pass and two superb goals.

Sissoko wouldn't have been my choice to come on but he ran with the ball well, took up good positions, showed some skill and finally scored (though he did his best not to).

Walker-Peters was pretty involved, put in a good tackle, used some pace and I don't remember a cross from his side.

Son wasn't involved much but did well in the build up to our fourth.

Welll done Spurs, good day at the office, slightly helped by some naivety from Huddersfield but not flattered by the score. Well done Pochettino for the right selection and getting the game won early.

No, I knew you meant the second half and I still find it banal. Surely to get trounced, the other team has to get the ball occasionally no? We could have ripped them apart, we chose to take our foot off the gas as there was no need to, game was won, energy need not be wasted, if Huddersfield had bombed forward then I reckon we'd have scored another four but Huddersfield decided to limit damage and, rather than try and break down a packed defence we just kept them pinned back.

Anyway, onions and all that, I don't usually take umbrage with critical views but I think your was wacko in this instance.

Great result. Yes we could have put them to the sword but we cruised with this one. Its getting hard to pick a MOM, Kane is scoring for fun but that chap Ben Davies is starting to look bloody good as well. Nice one from Eric Diet too.

Get a grip. Dele is not playing as well as we know he can its just been pointed out. So he won a ball for the final goal, an in form Dele would have won more, probably scored and wouldn't have to resort to diving. People are just pointing it out.

I know who is NOT my man of the match, Dele.

A win but the second half performance has flatten it for me. Play like this against better teams and we will be trounced. Despite scoring 4 and keeping a clean sheet, wasn't convincing to me.

I would have kept on Eriksen to play with Son instead of Dele

Credit to Davies but I will give Kane MOTM again
You are a first class Arsehole judging by a post like that

Not sure I'm the one who needs to get a grip, mate, but just as its fine to point out Dele's out of form, it's okay to point out he's not playing nearly as badly as some are claiming.

Dele was completely fine today. Not great, not bad. Nearly scored following good individual play and helped with 4th. Showed good touches and good play in first half. Was bit sloppy in second but we'd completely eased off. He worked hard all game though.

I'm sure many will say he was shit and off the boil seemingly completely forgetting that today's performances was exactly the same as countless ones last season minus the goal. Think people think he's something he's not. He's always been on the cusp of the game and not necessarily particularly involved, he always tries tricks (fans used to love all the nutmegs he'd try), he always looks like not having a great game but will suddenly arrive with a goal. Said it before but change in tone on him is weird and a bit pathetic.

You’ve got to pick your battles. The game was won and unlike West Ham we kept the opposition out of any comeback. Sure, we could have gone all out for more but it’s a long season and we’ve had a busy week.

Exactly. Save that energy for later in the season when we might need it. Also no point risking injuries by giving 100% when 85% is doing the job. Great teams know when to take their foot off the gas and manage a game. I know we want to see a spanking dished out every week but that simply isn’t realistic or clever.

We did just win, not lose by 4? Right?

I can see where bullet is coming from but I think it was sensible to take it easy second half. Against better sides, I doubt we'd have that option anyway.

I don't think there were any bad performers today. Decent team effort.

Kane was superb, as was Davies,
There were a couple of times in the game when Sanchez's speed looked impressive. Winks and Dier were also very good.

If we think beyond this season, when home games actually mean home games, the habit of winning away (which we're getting very good at) might be the decisive factor that enables us to win the league

Hugo 7 No horror kicking. Did what needed doing.
Trippier 7 Got forward well and put in some nice crosses.
Toby 7 Solid game. Not yet back to his best.
Sanchez 7 Solid enough. Depoitre was strong but Sanchez matched him.
Vertonghen 7.5 Good controlled game.
Davies 8.5 All action. Great contribution. Hugely improved player.
Winks 7 No dramas. Moves the ball quicker than any of our other CMs.
Dier 8 Bossed the midfield and covered well at the back.
Eriksen 7 Looked like he was recovering from being ill but still put in a shift.
Alli 5 Fell over at every opportunity til he got booked for it. Needs to get his head down.
Kane 8.5 Just pips Davies to MOM. Lethal finishing but a bit greedy at times.

Very unnecessary post. (n)

Bullet is entitled to an opinion and no need to resort to being personal.

Exactly what's wrong with this site now. Too many people that counter opinion with abuse instead of a reasoned argument.
