Ronaldo - Kane

Currently they are operating at similar levels.

Ascensio - Son

Toss up. Both good players, but not finished products.

Isco - Eriksen

Again, operating on similar levels.

Modric - Winks

Unfortunately for young Harry, there is no contest here.

Casemiro - Dier

Casemiro definitely edges it but a fit Wanyama or Dembele would be just as good if not better

Carvajal - Aurier

Carvajal is better but with some time under Poch Aurier can be WC

Varane - Toby

Similar levels

Ramos - Vertonghen

Similar levels currently

Marcelo - whoever we put at LB

This will be our weakest link

A bit lily tinted, but matched up we are well in with a chance.

Leaving work early today to get home and watch this game. No expectation that we'll win but this is the sort of match you want to see Spurs show up in. Every player will care to perform, and we'll really see what level we're at. Who knows what will happen. Madrid are probably the best team in the world over the past few years and we've done well but not always risen to the occassion. They are also very good at beating 3 at the back (re: Juventus in the CL final last year) and high pressing teams (re: Dortmund a few weeks ago)... so there's that.

No matter what I'm just excited to see Spurs at this level vs Madrid, regardless of the outcome... and then much less excited to see the same match but at Wembley because "Wembley".

Hoping for a really good performance from our lads, can't ask for more than that.

We'll see what happens.

Scared this is is gonna be like watching your favorite team in the Super Bowl, where someone from the opposing squad returns the opening kickoff 100 yards for a score, and it goes downhill from there...

But I'm also a lifelong Patriots fan (first game attended: 1978)- so there's that. Hopefully Harry is our Tom Brady.

Leaving work at half 4, get home for half 5. Then the boring 2 hour wait until kick off......listen to talksport perhaps with Durham no doubt saying how many we'll get gubbed by and how much real will get Kane for......

luckily my new boss is a spurs fan. we are pubbing from about 1630 and can't wait.

This is why we are in the cup, for games like this.

I hope everyone is up for it and plays a good game. If RM win due to a moment of class I can live with that, I can't live with getting this far and them cramming up - it would be a waste.

Not sure what I want from the Line up, but Ben D and Mouse would be perfect for this type of game. Strong, tall and able to take prem physique to a Spanish team. Shame but we can't fall down just because of that.

Hope we adjust well and show what we are made of. Son and Kane running at the CB's is what I want to see

When this came out I originally envisioned watching this game from behind the sofa, but think we will give a good account of ourselves.

Can see Poch going for the 5 man midfield tonight in a 4-5-1 type formation

Just remembered Lennon bottling it in the hours before the game and crying off sick. Can't imagine any of our players pulling something like that now.

Considering it's become apparent that he has mental health issues I would suggest saying he 'bottled it' is a bit harsh...

I sit next to a Real Madrid fan at work. Young Spanish Lad. Really good at Table Tennis. Never wears socks at work though. Anyway.....he is pretty dismissive of our boys but, over the course of the week, has been educated on Spurs history:).

Interestingly he has no love for Van Der Vaart and was surprised by his status amongst Spurs fans.

Think Leicester have just sacked Shakespeare so he'll be all over that hopefully.

Why not watch the Under 19 game on BT Sport?

Ooh, what time does that start?
