I think Edwards pressing has been okay. But he has been really really bad with the ball. He has been dispossessed so many times and has been sloppy with his passing.

Currently yes.

We are under the cosh though.

We need to take sterling off and put in someone who can hold it up.

Some very tired legs out there.

I wonder if Edwards will step up enough to make it in the first team. Aside from tonight, which was a pretty poor performance all round, he seems horribly inconsistent.

Our 2 centrehalfs have been our best players this half.not been impressed by either hinds or bennetts defensively.

Couldn't watch the second half but it was a really good first half performance and we showed character to come out of it with a draw away from home.

They really need to teach young keepers how to catch the ball.

Isn't punching the ball the way coaches teach the young keepers?

I don't expect a teenager to have the power to get real distance but perhaps less risk involved?

He must be fuming.Gonna miss experience of a lifetime with his mates. For what sitting on bench with Dortmund. If he was German there’s absolutely no way they’d withdraw him,it’s a disgrace tbh.If there’s no fitness issue ,country should always get precedent over club. What if we meet Germany in final How is that possibly fair.Hopefully will cause a rift with Dortmund.

I don’t agree at all, clubs shoulder all the risk and cost of buying, coaching, developing, housing and educating players, why should country teams then have ultimate control?

Being on the bench, training with the first team, and maybe getting minutes for Dortmund is far more valuable to his career than playing for his country.

I’m 20 minutes into our u19 CL game. Looks like 4231 with Shashoua, Roles and Edwards in front of Skipp and Marsh. Looks like a good, balanced set up to me and they’ve played well and been the better side so far.

There’a a little bit of the Alli about Roles isn’t there? He doesn’t look like an orthodox 8,9 or 10 but a kind of hybrid of the three.

I like Sancho, and particularly like Foden, hadn’t seen much of him before the game last week, and after that game I said about fast tracking them because they are the kind of player England are lacking, but I would include Edwards in that too. In terms of head up football intelligence, game brain and decision making I’d say Edwards and Foden are ahead of Sancho, but Sancho has that unpredictabile quality.

But international football is and, in my opinion, should remain a serious part of the footballing landscape.

If you give everything to the clubs then Man U etc run riot.

To be honest, I have no idea what you expect of youth players anymore: "they should be first on the first team sheet without playing or being challenged if they're our guys but other teams players should lead pedestal luxury lives of nothingness just because they might have the opportunity elsewhere..."
