I disagree, it has to be with the players.

You're right to disagree. Mentality starts with the fans it's codswallop.
United fans under 40 are spoilt pricks who've been used to non-stop success. That mentality was brought about by Fergie and what he did there.
I'm used to Tottenham bottling every massive game they play 95% of the time.
We've won two league cups in 26 years. You'd have to beyond deluded to expect constant success and trophies given what's happened on the field at this club for the past 30 odd years!

The problem is that at the club there is a mentality that breeds heroic, stylish defeats that are dressed up as victories. Pochettino is trying to change that mentality, but there are some here who are still stuck in some Blanchflower Dreamland. The game may be about glory, but glory comes with winning the big prizes. It starts with the absolute determination not to be beaten.

Blanchflower dreamland? The man who led our most successful ever side to their first trophies as a side? He was substance over style despite the revisionism.
Supporters attitudes change when trophies are won and in the cabinet. I can't see how it can work the other way round.

And do what with 100 million? Buy more llorentes, sissokos and N'mehs?

Attackers who are better than what we have do not want to play for Tottenham.
They are gettable before they move to the likes of Southampton and Watford.
For Under 30 mil you could have gotten good technical players who would challenge for a first team spot in our squad:
Richarlison, Mane before he came to saints, Mahrez, Coutinho, Firmino, Gabbiadini.

In germany:
Yarmolenko, Schurle, Embolo, Dembele before he game to Dortmund

All these players were gettable and reasonably cheap. How did we fail to go in for any of them is a mystery.

Just watched highlights again on another day we could have won 2-6 easily. 4 golden chances and a stonewall pen. Only difference between 1-6 last season is we took our chances and everything went in today it didn’t. I’m more concerned defensively with sloppy goals. The goals will come for us mixture of unlucky and poor finishing. But all round I’m not greatly concerned.

That was a very long time ago. The problem is that it has become mangled in its meaning, because it doesn't mean playing stylish football in an inconsistent manner or being flaky. That's why we have had a certain reputation for ages. Past glories are yesterday's chip paper.

Does anyone know what the spurs fans were chanting about Vardy's missus??
She’s getting fucked in the jungle.
When vardy scored he ran the whole length of both corners of the away end staring all the way.

Twats really knew how to get the opposition striker focussed

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, I honestly hardly ever give off over a loss but we have been shite for the last 3 games. If we wanna win things we need to be clinical, none of the usual key players talking about challenging I wanna see results. Il tell you something else, if we don't start and win soon like it or not were gonna lose players.
I see you're referring to the Won brothers.

We will be lucky to finish in the top 6 at this rate.

We are now very poor defensively, we concede in most matches.

We are also very poor as an attacking side, we rarely score more than one goal.

These things together mean we will win very few matches.

A hallmark of Spurs teams over the past two years is that we played with an incredible intensity and tempo, the Bournemouth, Utd, Palace, Arsenal, West Brom and Leicester games have all been very similar in the sense that we play with almost 0 intensity and let the opposition set the pace of the game, we don't press and are very easy to get behind and score against if the opposition tries to.

Part of the reason is that I think most or indeed all of our main players have had their heads turned. We let Kyle Walker go to City, he will walk the PL earning triple the money, our other players see this and (rightly) want that too.

Danny Rose was 100% right with everything he said in the summer and the failure to heed his warning is coming home to roost. Walker, Rose, Dier and Alli are all friends, they will know what he is getting paid and they also know they won't get that at Spurs and because of that their heads have gone and their form has nose-dived. Eriksen too now looks disinterested.

I think Poch has lost control of this group of players, we will struggle in the league for the rest of the season and all of those listed, along with Eriksen and Toby will move on in the summer.

If we are lucky we will keep Poch, Kane, Jan and Hugo and have to rebuild again in the summer.

Being honest I am not sure I can really be bothered to watch another cycle that is set up to fail as we never invest when we are on the crest of a wave.

I really, really hope I'm wrong.

And yet he was incredible for Denmark. Surely you'd be flying after those performances. I thought he'd come back and kill it.

Everyone, including Kane, look off the pace. We haven't got out of first gear in the PL for awhile.

Against Ireland was it? Name me one top team he has shined against.

Was he trying to look as far as Australia just in case she was?

How Pochettino thought Eriksen derserved to start that game is beyond me. His form has been truly appalling, summed up by that open goal miss. I rate Eriksen highly, but he cannot start against Watford. It's worrying that certain players get selected however badly they are playing.
